Canada in flames because they suck at hockey

Quote:
The city of Vancouver has been bracing for this all day, but just minutes after the Canucks dropped Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals to the Boston Bruins, 4-0, the rioting began. This morning, lines were already out the door at liquor stores as fans stocked up on alcohol in preparation for the biggest day in Vancouver since the 1994 Stanley Cup Finals. And when you mix booze with a heart-breaking loss, nothing good comes of it.

While it's nothing huge as of now, fires have already broken out. The following photo comes from Danny O'Neil, of the Seattle Times, and shows an overturned car on fire.

Sadly, it's probably going to be a long night in Vancouver following the Canucks loss at Rogers Arena. Over 100,000 people were reportedly in the streets downtown to watch Game 7 and cheer on the Canucks with a massive crowd. Mixing such a large amount of people with the disappointment of coming so close before falling in the Stanley Cup Finals is never good.

One would hope cooler heads prevail and law enforcement is able to keep control of the situation, but the sheer volume of people in the city makes it a tough task. Sad that such a fun series ends with riots.

SUCK IT, CANADA, AMERICA IS BETTER AT YOUR FAVORITE SPORT.

How dreamlike to see my x-sisters, outside the context of a Papa Song dome. They sang Papa Song’s Psalm, over and over; background hydraulics underbassed that sickening melody. But how jubilant they sounded! Their Investment was paid off. The voyage to Hawaii was under way, and their new life on Xultation would shortly begin... Watching them from the hangway, I envied their certainty about the future.

Who was at home? The home team had won every game so far, so im thinking that the home team finally lost, as im pretty sure the Canucks had the better record.

Moreso the fact that it was the Bruins they lost to.

It's a well known fact that Montreal's team in particular has a strong, longtime rivalry with the Bruins, both being part of the Original 5. So for those with a rich love for hockey history, it could easily transcend just one team. I know a crapload of people who would normally stop watching after their team lost just because it was a Canadian team against Boston, even if they wouldn't have watched if it was anyone else.

That said, people need to calm the fuck down. Like really. I hear someone robbed a bank during the riots. It's just a sport.
