My high school had a uniform, enforced, just saying.
Solved all problems except hair colouring which degenerates into "blue is my natural hair colour, I'm the human representation of a smurf." and "I'll stop dying my hair when you do." so it's not like a crossed mohawk or anything. |

The issue here is the blatant indoctrination as seen in the second article.
Disclaimer: I get kinda religious in this post, myself, but I'm not being preachy about my OWN beliefs. In truth, I've become very cynical and jaded, and am no longer sure what I believe. It's been a very hard several years, after all. But the point is that I DID go to THREE Catholic schools, and when it all boils down to it, this gives me a good basis for understanding and judging this situation. His father - who might I add was brandishing a bible and trumpeting all the hypocrasy I spoke about in my other post - refused to let his son attend a seminar about expressing your views in a way that respects the views of others. This seminar was apparently open to all students who wished to attend - and after his supposed telling of other students to go to hell for not sharing his faith and the like, it's a fair bet that a fair number of other students would have attended simply out of sheer "not wanting to be like him." But no. His father wouldn't have that. And you know why? Quote:
Ask yourself why the Bible has TWO creation stories. The second one being Adam and Eve. God was convinced man was good, created woman from him, and then woman misled him? What was once a fable passed down by word of mouth was eventually written (and altered) by the educated men of the time to cement man's dominion over woman in their society. The Christian faith is the most popular in the world - it had a following of about 33% of the entire global population last I checked (7 years ago, mind you) and in that context, is it any wonder it took so long for women to be allowed to vote? My point exactly. Why else would the religious men of the time have been so eager to crucify Jesus? Because they, too, used their religion as a weapon and a mask, and did not take kindly to his disruption of their supposed faith. He told them off for parading their prayers on the street corners in the effort of trying to make others believe they were more pious. He saved women who were being stoned to death for the kinds of things men would not be punished for. You get the idea. If this man had genuine faith, he would recall basic teachings about respect and acceptance. Love your neighbor as you love yourself and all that. A difference in beliefs doesn't mean people need to fight. But no, he's a bigoted hypocrite who hides behind a mask of religion to attempt to justify his addiction to being an asshole.
