Voting contests?

I was once a forum who did this and it got people posting. Maybe itd be fun.
What they did was have threads that were "contests". Things involving pictures, or art, writing, anything a member can show.
Examples: "Member with the coolest gaming set up" (theyd take a picture) "Best poem" (theyd post it and we'd trust they really wrote it), "Best digital art"
You get the idea.
Not sure if itd work out here but hey I thought I'd suggest it.

Theres no problem, talentless vs talentless can still make a competition...a bad one but a competition all the same

Sounds like a plan to me, I've been writing a shit ton and I know some people on here write so lets do it up. I need competition (Even if its friendly) to get me motivated.

But if your talent is doing nothing but sitting back and scoffing at those trying, you can't very well try yourself since then you would have to mock yourself and that ends in exploding heads.

I can but I can't do creative things on demand. I have to do them when I feel inspired.

Pretty much what holly said at the bottom. I don't draw when I don't feel like it. So its kinda like, whats the point? Most people on the forum is so laid back and lethargic this kinda...wouldn't get anywhere.

I actually had a similar idea awhile ago, but it was basically like

1) 5 Volunteers step forward to judge
2) Winner of previous vote chooses event
3) The event will either be something like "Find the funniest photo with this theme" or "Find the most unfitting music for this event" so everyone has a chance since it depends on your ability to find things.

Of course, that's just me

Holly, I'm surprised you'd say that. Can anyone be bothered? Oh itd be SO fucking hard to take a picture of your gaming set up or post a drawing you already made.
Same with you, Gunny, didnt you read the whole thing? We can have voting for anything, it doesnt HAVE to be art.

I thought it was a decent idea because it could be about anything.
Oh well, at least I gave a damn to try and think of something we could do together.
I really give up, I was trying to do something nice and everyone just wanted to complain and not even compromise or try.
