what do you look forward to in new RPGs

More comdey, less goody 3D grahpics.
Good storyline. One that actually makes sense...

I like returning characters, the soundtrack, and story depth. comedy is also a plus, but not too much of it. I also hope for good villains, which is something that is lacking in a lot of games.

Deep storyline, Beautiful 2D graphics, and I agree, a BADASS villain.

I like returning characters in games like suikoden. The thing I always look forward to the most though is the soundtrack.

i like long games the longer the better...game play, if its not fun and interesting i dont want it, graphics can some times be needed but for the most part as long as i can understand the game i dont care how good or bad the graphics are

I don't really care about graphics, but graphics from games like Saga Frontier and Final Fantasy Tactics are the best IMO. Thats one of the reasons Disgaea looks so good to me, the graphics are my favourite kind.

Intruguing stories, not just same-old and not totally whack, less flashy graphics to leave room for what's important, more extras (trading, mini-games, secrets) and interesting but not too complex gameplay.

I'm all for 2D and everything, but I don't pay $200 for a next gen console to see blocky sprites... sorry.

That's why they invented the GBA. :D

characters and soundtrack, the main thing i do when i look at anime is the soundtrack and games are just based on the same thing really. Since it is the characters which playout the storyline you can handle a mediocre storyline if the characters intrigue you.

yeah... soundtracks are very important. a great song can turn what would be a bad scene into a great one.

a unique setting,new classes,deep lovable characters,new enemies,a great sound track,a LONG quest with many mini quests,smooth play mechanics,a villian with depth,and romance but with a kinkier darker twist while still expressing true love.

a quest that ends in failure that would be awsome i think a dark story like with scenes that are brutal and gory more people alowwed in a party a higher max level then 99 like 9999 and the game takes you like a year to beat because the story is so long and side quests that let you learn more about the charicters and even the monsters rpgs are getting to much alike i bet that for all you ff7 fanboys i could find a game exactly like it probobly more then 10 lol the whole save the world thing is getting old why not make an rpg where your trieng to destroy it or become the ruler of it

well in knights of the old republic you're given the choice of being good or evil..pretty much you can save the galaxy or rule it with an iron fist. of course being the goody two shoes i am i chose the lightside of the force. yeah more rpgs need to give you the choice of being the villian or hero it makes the game more interesting and adds to the replay factor..

sooner or later I'll get a 256 megabyte graphics card. hopefully by that time the new starcraft will be out... if blizzard will ever get off their lazy asses and make it.
