I actually could see that happening.
I also heard Hagrid died in book 4. Like how Obi Wan died in episode 4.

Wow......that's........wow.... ...

The worst part is we can all probably add to that story and make it even longer and more of a "coincidence"...hint hint....

Where does Yoda come in? And Snape?

Kal

well maybe yoda is dobby or something?....or maybe dumbledore. since dumbledore...is the head wizard, so maybe he is like a jedi master or something. Also Voldemort is a dark wizard in relation to dark lord of the sith. and wormtail is his apprentice or something.

That just shows that most 'epic' stories follow a basic storyline.

Neither of those are epics. There hasn't been an epic completed since "Paradise Lost" in the rennisance.

Not EVERYTHING has to match. There's enough evidence to suggest that JKRowling either conciously or subconciously took major plot points from Star Wars.

Sith lord snape rickman. heh heh. Well, in most books or movies we root for the under-dog so usaully the hero has some sorta traumatic past or other psychological issues.

Since we go through hard ships in real life it's safe to assume we can identify with a hero going through similiar things. Btw drizzt had to combat his ressurected father in the books that were the prequels to ice wind dale series. For some reason confronting ones own father holds some sorta weird significance in our culture. Personally I understand it because my dad really did turn to the dark side and became more and more of a prick as the years rolled on. Still he went through alot such as my mom's death and contracting the terminal version of hypotitis so I sorta understand grief and anger can make even the best of us resent life.

As for mentors....in almost any novel or movie they end up either dying or just fading into the back ground. I think it's so more emphasis can be placed on the hero and his/her friends.

Hence why epic was inbetween these ' '

Alot of movies and books have similiar themes to star wars simply because at its heart it's a very simple story of good vs evil, redemption, and falling from grace.

All in all, it follows the Jungian theory of archetypes, basic concepts and preconceived notions that we supposedly inherited from our ancestors. The entire idea of archetypes is nonsense. The "evidence" for the contrary presented here can be explained by the fact that the ideas of good and evil exist throughout religious mythology and indeed human society in general.

Well we're not saying it has to follow a certain story, we just thought it'd be crazy if....and just relating it to other stuff.
