FFT challenge help.....*POSSIBLE SPOILERS*

I'm going through the game using just Ramza. Also I'm using him as a knight only, no skills can be used from other jobs in any way. Oh yes.....I have completed this game before. Though I haven't gotten there just yet I know of an upcoming battle that will be quite hard with this setup.....The fight with Velius. At a guess I'll be at 450-550 HP, 10-11 speed, 150-200 damage, and lvl 60-70 by that time 70 max, unless of course i really need to get more lvls. I need help in devising some tactic for killing him. I forget.....does magic evade % actually affect summons cast on me? Thanks in advance for all help.

Yeah thats what I think too.....I'll test it out. Too bad his cyclops summon isn't emental at all. Guess I'll just have to find some way of doing 330 damage a blow or so. Wonder how long that'll take.....

I havent played it in years, lol. The only advice I could give is to level up more. With the limitations you've imposed on yourself, I don't see how you could do much else =/

well... yeah, lol.

leveling to 99 and protecting yourself from stuff like death would be the only way you could do it.

good luck beating Velius with just Ramza.

I don't suppose anyone remembers what equipment is available at the time you do that fight? I don't recall whats in the shops at that time.......I can find out sure but it'll be a few more days till I'm actually there. Oh and as for random fights.......currently I still need better stuff otherwise I have about a 5% win rate. Worse maybe. No I'm not joking either. Once I get a better shield, mantle and sword though I know of the perfect area to do fights in.....till then though its quite a hassle. Currently I'm trying to beat the Goug Machine city fight at lvl 33. In not too long I'll b trying it again at lvl 45 or 50 maybe depends when i hit 9 speed. Its definitly possible.....bout a 10% chance or so of winning. Sure thats low but its better then random fights if you ask me. Plus maybe new stuff will pop up afterwards too. New stuff is always handy. Well enough babbling I'm off to try and win that fight at Goug.

I don't think my lvl will have to be that high.....but we'll see. lol shortly after that fight the knight can be made to block most magical and physical attacks too. lol and I don't have to cheat to set things up that way either. Might use a gameshark for those lvls though.

other than that... just do random fights until the enemies aren't giving much exp anymore.

lol you forget....ALL chars and monsters in random fights are kept equal in lvls with whoever has the highest lvl in your group. Besides that as we both lvl up they gain more attack and more HP then I do per lvl. So things just get more and more unfair. Till new equipment shows up at least. Until my physical block % hits 70 or better random fights will be evaded at all costs unless I can't go any further without gaining lvls. Almost all story fights are easier then random ones, for now at least.

My estimated stats for when I get to Velius have now been updated in my 1st post here. I'll probably update them again later once I'm further along. I've also updated my current stats for the Goug machine city story battle that I'm currently at. Mentioned it a post or 2 above this one.

Ok I need some more help here..........I need to know if there's a way to get the Defender sword without breaking the rules of the challenge I'm doing. I think there is but I can't remember because its been so long since I've gone through all of the game. Also just as a sidenote.....I may have a way to get the Chaos blade on this challenge without cheating. How you ask? Well the only known way of getting it so far is catching it from a ninja in the Deep Dungeon. That of course won't work with a knight. I think that if I reached a high lvl(90 or higher) and got into a random fight with a knight you might find him carrying it. Of course they won't carry ones like Defender and save the queen swords they're different and limited in #s that can be gotten. But the chaos blade isn't. You could catch multiple copies of it.....so I think it might be able to be gotten this way too. Have to try it sometime....lol. Well enough babbling, anyone know how to get that Defender sword?

alright im doing the exact same challenge right now lol ok you make guts an ability and you use yell and acumulate untill ytour stats are maxed DO THIS IN EVERY BATTLE it may take a while but it makes it SOOOOOOOOOOO easy and you gain levels fast as hell if you encounter a random battle reset being they will be at your level because random encounters dont have a set level unlike the needed fights so yeah hope i helped

Umm......sounds like you're doing the solo Ramza challenge with him as a squire. I'm doing the sola Ramza challenge as a knight. Also doing it as ONE job only, which means no other jobs can be involved in any way. Please try to read more closely. Thanks for trying though. Now can anyone tell me something useful? Or am I going to be the one doing all the work? Eh who cares? Seems like I'm always the one doing all the work....ole well
