Though there have been at least 4 to 5 other such exercises - this is the first official one between the two nations - including it's announcement.
20 representative of the US were involved to asses the possibility and outcome of a crisis between china and taiwan. The exercise is considered a strong move in reaction to China's anti seccession law
( of using force if Taiwan breaks away ) - and several purchases of military hardware and technology from abroad.
Though this seems understandable, and perhaps is important to US security in the area - I think this is too much and too soon of a thing to be placing on China right now. Though both nations are very civil and know how to hold back - this action may only achive to tell us what we already knowof our military situation - but will definitly be a lose in our diplomacy with the Chinese Government - and serve later as an excuse for further military purchase.
