GameStop has announced plans to have many of its 1,800 stores nationwide celebrating the launch of the PSP in the US with a little midnight madness. You'll want to check with your local store to ensure their participation, but if so, as the clock strikes midnight on March 23, you'll have a chance to join others in being the first American gamers with PSPs.
As with the recent Halo 2 launch, selling PSPs and games won't be all that's going on at GameStop at midnight. "Most of the stores participating in these openings will feature gaming tournaments, promotional giveaways and have an all-out party atmosphere where avid video gamers can enjoy themselves while waiting to purchase this system," said Jack Beuttell, Senior Vice President Marketing and Merchandising.
The PSP value pack retails for $250.00 and launches on March 24 in the US.
