Is Blink-182 breaking up? Pop-punk trio says it's on ''indefinite hiatus'' by Gary Susman

Maybe it wasn't any one big thing, but rather, all the small things. After more than 10 years, Blink-182 is apparently calling it quits. Geffen Records, the label for the popular pop-punk trio, stopped short of calling the split a breakup (the label used the term ''indefinite hiatus,'' but it also said the three musicians currently have no plan to work together again.

Rumblings about the split began over the weekend, when the trio pulled out of an appearance at Friday's all-star tsunami-relief benefit concert in Anaheim, Calif. The stated reason for the last-minute no-show was ''unforeseen circumstances,'' but a rep for Geffen told E! Online on Tuesday that the term was, in fact, a euphemism for the band's disintegration. Furthering the rumors was Dave Navarro, who did play at the show, and who explained the band's absence by posting on his website a comment reading, ''Evidently, they broke up yesterday. ... I know how it can get when it's just not working anymore. ... Anyway, best of luck to those guys.'' According to MTV News, Navarro soon rescinded that comment and removed the post.

Still, Tuesday's statement by the label left little doubt. ''For over a decade, Blink-182 has toured, recorded and promoted nonstop all while trying to balance relationships with family and friends,'' the statement read. ''To that end, the band has decided to go on an indefinite hiatus to spend some time enjoying the fruits of their labors with loved ones. While there is no set plan for the band to begin working together again, no one knows what tomorrow may bring.''

The band's dissolution doesn't mean you won't be hearing a lot in the near future from guitarist-singer Tom DeLonge, 29, bassist Mark Hoppus, 32, and drummer Travis Barker, 29. The musicians have a number of side projects going. First up is Barker's new Newlyweds-like reality show on MTV, starring himself and his wife of four months, former Miss USA and Playboy Playmate Shanna Moakler. Meet the Barkers debuts in April.

Exactly, the ONLY punk that I've ever liked was recorded before 1981... So if they break up then the world will be a better place.
