Final Fantasy Creator Brings RPG to DS
Hironobu Sakaguchi confirms DS project

By Christian Nutt

Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi, last heard from in connection with the formation of his own game production company, Mist Walker, has announced that the company has a Nintendo DS game in production. Previously, Sakaguchi had confirmed that the company had two games in production, but declined to specify any platforms.
Art direction for the title will be handled by Hideo Minaba, who previously worked on several games in the Final Fantasy series but recently broke off to form his own independent art studio. Sketches by Minaba, depicting suits of armor, dragons, and warriors were published in Weekly Famitsu alongside the game announcement. No salient details about the game are yet known -- including its title.

the only thing about that I heard was a selection of SNES era Square games going to the PSP.

I don't know about one on the DS.
