Quina was another species; you cant really judge him by our standards...
Cait Sith was really Reeve, and he geniunely cared about Midgar and its denizens.

But, actual use-wise...
All but Cloud sucked. Cloud kicked ass in battle, and you must accept that.

Yeah. FF7 lacked the "healing/support" type character, which is what Aeris was. Everyone is geared towards attack in one way or another.

Plus, Aeris is hot. And she isnt fake, like Tifa obviously is >_>

Has there ever been a healing/support type character that wasn't weak. I don't mean after you level him/her up, I'm talking about the character being naturaly strong.

The Angel class in disgaea isn't weak and they come with healing and support magic...as for regular characters...I can't think of any right now

Anyways, some of the stronger healing characters:

Rena (SO2) Once leveled up, she can put up quite a fight if she has weapons like Empresia equipped.

MOMO (Xenosaga) If you put time and work into her, she can be damned powerful.

Myam (Grandia 3) She's the closest thing to a heal/support character in the game. She is never as powerful as people like Evann and Brandol, but if put time into her, she can be evil, lol. Especially if you give her the Shotgun Bow (Adds +6 Combo hits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And its Pwr+300, while her 'ultimate' weapon is Pwr+500, but no combo additions. So, you get 8 hits at +300 pwr, as opposed to 2 hits at +500)

Anyway, Angel class can get healing magic. BUT they can't learn the strongest magic. Only the mage can learn the strongest magic of it's own elementent. As for priest as well, so once you get it, just transmigrate it and go for a MaJin class.

Jessica from Lunar is fairly strong for a healer. She can learn 2x hit.

Yeah Jessica is strong, but...still not up to par with most others. At least she's stronger than Mia, lol.

Majin class is worth it. Since at their strongest stage, their max bonus is i think 120% at all their stats.
While Laharl's are at only 100%.
Basically they can be either a fighter or magic user.
Oh and as for weapons. Go with swords.

Nash is the suckiest character in Lunar, apart from Ramus. He is just a big pile of crap. Mia has kickin magic. I have no one in any other group than buddies.

Nash is good, once he gets Thunder thrust or whatever its called. But even then, he's sucky as a character, lol.

Against Ghaleon he is totally pathetic. His best Thunder spell does about 150-200 damage, and Alex and Kyle can do up to 500.

The way the characters grow in Lunar is really similar to Grandia. At first Alex is so-so, and at the end he's badass. It's the same with Justin.

It's just because of the stlyish armor and the tough guy name. :P

but yeah... maybe if his dragoon abilities went past jumping he'd have been better. It wasn't entirely useless in some parts of the game but in the end I usually just ended up making him fight... and that was really just supplimenting Cecil's wall of damage.
