Here i want people to talk about people they know that think their good at rpg's but their not.

I have a friend who thinks he is an rpg master yet he has only beaten Grandia 2 and ff10

lol i know someone who thought he was better then me in any type of game...1st i beat FF6 befor him,and he never did beat it, then i beat him in THPS2 then other game, the list goes on..i hate that too..someone talks $h!t sayin how good they are then they suck..meh!

well, i started out on FF1 (1st game i ever play) and i was good, as i moved along i only got better, so i have always ruled in RPGs but i sucked in every other type of game..im okay in most games nowa days though

It seems like the only genre i'm good at is RPG...I remember liking it back when I was around 8 or 9. LOL and I don't know of many who cliams to be good at it. They're more or less those metal gear solid fans.

I do know this little bastard who says he's the master of every single game in existence, and sadly... he's a very good gamer *cries* But I don't think he's ever touched an RPG other than Super Mario RPG so I guarantee I'd whoop him in them. (Mario RPG, along with FF Mystic Quest, are easily the EASIEST RPGs in existence)

I dropped out of college about a year ago, and I've been working a dead end job and living in the internet since then. I'm starting college back in august though... that should add a little more substance to my life. A lot of my life's meaning flew out the window when my band broke up. I was severely depressed for about 4 months after that.. but, I worked my way through it. now, everything's just.. meh. I've luckily got one friend that isn't in the military that didn't get sent to Iraq.. so at least I have a drinkin buddy and someone to play guitar with on occaision.

basically, what I'm tryin to say laggy is.. it'll get better.

I've been talking to people in FFXI lately that think they know everything in the world about rpgs (there's a lot of downtime in some areas... so we just chat) but somehow get stumped on all of my trivia questions. :hmm

I used to know a few people who thought they were the best of the best and used to be all in my face about it, just cos they read the stupid booklet and I didn't. They think that because they know it in "advance" it makes them better but I find that discovering everything for yourself (- The odd hints I seek from time to time but only directions..) They thought that because they could do all this stuff in the menu and stuff made them awesome but when it came to the actual game-playing, they were hopeless but wouldn't except it.

Yeah, it's easy to start with a pretty basic example (FF), but as soon as you onto Suikoden/SMT/Star Ocean, you can see their eyes staring into space. *sigh*

I'll be honest....Only rpg I beat lately was shadow hearts covenant. Nothing else seems to hold my interest long enough for completion. I'm going to attempt completing the digital devil sage now that I have both games.

Earthbound spooks? *puzzled face* I used to have the emulator for that game (along with 90% of the rest of the old school game systems' games) but I never much got into that game.

To suddenly and unexpectedly turn this into a relevant point... make sure you don't judge people because they dont know the one game you happen to bring up. I also hadnt hadnt even heard of Suikoden until I joined this site... yet I have mastered some of the hardest RPGs in history *wont shut up about QFG until Lades or others get around to trying it*

That's pretty much how I feel. I play the games for my own enjoyment, not bragging rights or anything like that. The only thing I do care about though is that I prefer to talk to people that will know at least 10% of the games I'm talking about. I just hate it when I talk to someone, start talking about a few games, and have them with a puzzled look on their face or constantly saying "Oh, that's cool."

That's another thing that gets me too. A lot of these "OMG ELITE!!!" RPG-players annoy the hell out of me when they figure they're gods at RPGs, when all they've played is the Final Fantasy series, not realizing that there's more to RPGs than that.

I beat Lost Kingdoms, Secret of Mana, Skies of Arcadia, Grandia 2 and Fire Emblem:Path of Radiance. I'm not even going to begin to say I am an rpg master oh wait, I also beat KOTOR but I cheated like shit to beat Malak, I kept saving when I landed a hit and then I would load the game up.

KOTOR was easy as hell

Force Speed gives you like 1.5 turns over him and if you leveled right his attack wouldnt do much. oh yeah, a great crystal pairing is good too one that does at less 50+ damage.
KOTOR2 sucked and it about 10x easier

I must get more RPGs
