The harry potter books are good. I used to read alot of Anne Rice and Terry Brooks and of course the classic authors like Edgar Allen Poe.
I guess my favorite book of all time would be 2001: A Space Odyssey

It is pretty good. They take over this dudes mansion and have pool parties and ****, and they're lead by this retard because he has a kalashnikov and he shoots anyone who opposes him. And they have a game called Carrying the Can, where someone gets a metal tube cuffed to their hand with a bomb inside. They have to run to the cathedral and get the key to unlock the cuff before it explodes and they die. lol.

the wild cards books by george r r martin and an assortment of other talented writers. pretty much they were about an alternate earth with super heroes. think x-men only as if it was written for adults with more sexually graphic situations, more violence, and less predictable plot twists.

I, personally, like The DaVinci Code and Angels and Demons. They were both great books. Yes, The DaVinci Code brought up "religious controversy", but if people are ignorant enough to not see that it is FICTION, meaning NOT REAL, then maybe they need to get their priorities straight.

Test of the Twins - Margaret Weis/Tracy Hickman
This one should be obvious for anybody who recognizes my username.
Children of Dune - Frank Herbert
I honestly can't tell if this book was genius personified or simply pseudo-intellectual... the simple fact that it baffled me, however, made it extremely enjoyable.
