If you were living in Spira would you be willing to sacrafice your life as a summoner knowing that in about ten years Sin would come back?

I'd be a guardian, and help out summoner after summoner >.>
I'm not a big fan of martyrdom, especially when I'm the martyr.

No, I don't want to be a summoner... I would rather be a innocent bystander out on the street, lol. Psyche I would want to travel alone or be a guardian.

This is what I'd do. I'd be a summoner... you're probably thinking that's out of character for me because I always favor fighter types... but there's nothing saying there can't be a sword slinging summoner. :P
My plan. Go to all the temples... get all the aeons... go to Yunalesca and get my final aeon... and guess what... not fight sin. Become the most powerful living summoner in the world with a god like aeon strong enough to kill sin and rule the place forever. With an aeon like that you could ward off sin every time he comes close to your city... making all of your citizens love you because you can protect them against sin. As for them wondering why, and possibly trying to kill you for not killing sin with your aeon... eh... I'd make up some elaborate lie. There'd be no one to prove me wrong. The only witness to what really happened would be under my control as my aeon. :laughdevi

Problem is summoning the final aeon will kill you and it going on its own accord would likely battle Sin and the townspeople of the town its in...

Hmm... what if I summoned it... then died... and stayed in spira instead of going to the farplane. My aeon goes onto kill Sin and then become him... but since my final aeon IS sin I could controll it.

nah youd die and whoever you merged with as the final aeon would stay, so if anyting youd want to be the guardian that went with the summoner to be the final aeon.

yeah... maybe that.
so... the summoner doesn't just die he merges with the guardian to become the aeon...
I don't know how I missed that... I played through it twice. =/

lol you see it in that basically the guardian is the vessel and the summoner is the power of the aeon. So The guardian keeps his physical form when merged with sin (hence why you only saw Jecht and not braska)

:hmm
There must be a close bond between the two yes, but I don't think the summoner and the guardian come together as one to form the final aeon, becuase it does say that the it takes so much effort and concetration of the summoner the by summoning it, it kills him or her.
As far as living on after summoning the aeon, you would have served your lives purpose as a summoner, there's nothing left for you to stay for.

I wouldn't be a summoner. There is no way I'd pointlessly give my life.
Since in a short while after my death, everything would change back.
I would rather find some way of making the peace perminent.
What's the point in sacrificing your life when all it will do is buy some time?
I'd do it if someone could devise a plan that would end it for good!
I'd do it with great pride! I'd die knowing that I made a difference.
I wouldn't enjoy dying in regret, knowing that all I did was stop a few innocents
from dying just for a little while. I know it sounds heartless...But that's what I think.
Lol I'm talking like it's real. I should lighten up. ^.^
