Woman Reportedly Finds Mouse's Foot In Ground Beef

MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- A Middletown woman says she may become a vegetarian after finding what appeared to be a mouse's foot -- complete with five tiny toes and toenails -- in a package of ground beef purchased at a supermarket.
Norma Rapp, 79, and her godson, Gilbert Fletcher, were forming hamburger patties to put on the grill Sunday when they made the discovery.
Fletcher said he contacted the store where he had purchased the meat and was told it couldn't be a foot because they ground the meat too fine.
Fletcher then called the Middletown health department, which turned the investigation over to the Ohio Department of Agriculture after photographing the object.
Fletcher says store officials told him to freeze the meat and wait to hear from the Food and Drug Administration.
