You know... I don't think it's as bad as a lot of people do... but I just realized some of what I think it needed. A lot more backstory and history to give it a more solid foundation... which is usually the case with most storylines in the first place.

disgaea,shadow hearts covenant,lotr 3rd age,kotor,fallout, and lunar silver star story. all liked either for originality or for that nastalgic boy meets girl and saves the world flavoring.

I'd say Xenogears had the best story I've ever seen in a video game. It still gives me the chills...

i quite like the story of neverwinter nights and its expansion the hordes of the underdark, though shadows of unrentide was quite meh.

Suikoden has a nice atmosphere to it adding to the already consistent storyline of a continuing form of revolution based upon stars, so that too is a brilliant mix.

Vagrant Storys mystical and mysterious gothic nature was simply awe inspiring from what i have played, since im stuck hardcore. Just the beginning poem was a tribute o the games depth.

Legend of Legaia had a different approac to the apocalyptic storyline barrages by most companies and i felt their execution of what they intended was nicely done indeed.

Shadow Hearts darkness enthralled also in its delivery.

And Granstream Saga's beginning were great but the execution was poor.

Lol, fly, I forgot about Vagrant Story. That game's story execution is marvelous, especially how it keeps jerking you around about the past and stuff, leaving you wondering what REALLY happened until the very end >.>;;

Damn, RPGs only? I like the stories in other genres too, like RE.
