''Mommy, why does Woody look different?'' Disney is going ahead with previously announced plans to make ''Toy Story 3'' without the participation of Pixar, the digital animators who made the original films, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Pixar's distribution deal with Disney is expiring, and the two companies have been unable to strike a new deal.

But Disney, which holds the rights to the ''Toy Story'' saga, is building a new digital animation headquarters specifically for the production of a new sequel, according to the Reporter. The move is unlikely to endear them to Pixar, which is reportedly courting other studios. Meanwhile, Tom Hanks recently told reporters that he is uncertain whether he would reprise the voice of Woody if Pixar is not involved.

great... Now Disney's gonna screw up Toy Story?

I just hope they don't mess with Pixar's other stuff... Those were some of the only movies "by Disney" (even tho they weren't) that I actually liked.

=/ well, who am I kidding? Disney has as much to do with Pixar's movies as it does with the Studio Ghibli releases... just a name tacked on to sell more... and to get the Disney empire more money...

Yeah, That company's been making some really terrible crap since Esner took over. If I hear anyone menton "Finding Nemo" again I'm gonna scream.

I think that franchise has probably had it's best anyway. When they drag these things out they just get worse...

i did like golden age disney stuff..but that was before sequels were made for everyone of disney's animated movies. at that point things got ugly..the only time i put up with disney anymore is in the kingdom hearts games...and even then i wonder if kh would have been even better without the disney chsracters. i don't think they should take something pixar did well and infringe their own style on it. toy story was good because of pixar. if disney buys the rights to shrek i will start a flame war against them in gates of hell. lol.
