Why are you the religion you are? Is it because your parents pushed it on you, is it because you wholeheartedly beleive in its values and its god(s)? Is it because you consider it the "true" religion?
I'm christian mostly because my mom and dad are. Although thats the main reason, that isnt the only one. Out of all the religions, Christianty's values appeal most to me. Nop, i dont mean the negative stigma attached to it these days, but the things such as loving other people, being nice, and generally being a moral person in general.

my beliefs are basically a collective of many different religions. I don't attach myself to any one of them, but I take what I like from them and ignore the rest.

Thats more or less what i do, only i stick to Christianity. Besides, it isnt my place to judge other people. If something really is a sin, then that person will pay for it in the afterlife. No reason for me to persecute them too.

I believe it, because its all I've ever known. Even though I have two religions that conflict with each other. I am more for reasoning than beliefs. But I choose Christianty because it has a strong foundation

you could mix them.. It couldn't be that hard to be a Christian that deifies nature. :D

You know it is possible to have no religion, but still have the same values. Its not like when you become a christian you must do this and must do that (although some people take it that way). I have values but i dont have any religion.

Because Religion is the reincarnation of Satan, especially Christianity. People can't just pick out the rules in the bible they don't like while forcing things upon others and influencing the country negatively just because another rule tells them so. Religion isn't a democracy, people! Slavery is wrong? Bible allows you to have slaves from neighboring countries. Homosexuals are evil? No, not really, but ignoramuses will believe it anyway because it's what they want to hear.

The only time I ever go to church is when my grandmother wants to go. She can't take herself anymore. I have great respect for her and the path she has chosen. Me on the other hand...hmmm I don't know. I was never forced to go to church when I was younger. I have values that I guess I learned from the many different inspirations that I have recieved over the years. I can't tie myselft down to a religion...I just can't.

While I Agree with most of what you say, Religion is not the reincarnation of satan, satan is the bad guy used to make god look good :devil
Also most of the crap the biblethumpers (not all of you, just the annoying ones that try to shove their religion down your throat) spew is just their own prejudices that they defend with a "misinterpitation" for the bible. :devil

people chose to blieve what they want based on whatever evidence they seem fit to agree to. Labelling a reason to every action is a fruitless attempt at gaining knowledge when in majority of cases the original action was done simple because it could be done.
I stopped asking why a long time ago concerning these issues, and i did so simply because i could. I chose to abandon what i was bought up on and believe what i want simply because i could. That i think is reason enough for any action without giving an exact reason.

i believe the way i do because i refuse to be brainwashed by dogma. we're all worshipping a higher power we're just taking different paths to get there...the divine wares many masks. dogma is just used by the church to conquer new land and use fear and hatred as a tool to convert the masses thus in my opinion dogma is evil for it turns good ppl against each other merely because they are of different faiths..

Despite all of the high and mighty chrisitans these days, i'm still a christian. I mean, i can think for myself, and i do. It says in the bible that God gave humans free will. Why would he give us free will if he was just going to say "you cant do this" and "you cant do that"??? I mean, i realize there have to be SOME boundries, and those boundries are called the Ten Commandments. Most of them can be applied to man's law, and most of the rest can be applied to society too. Don't kill, steal...those makes sense, and love your parents, and neighbor, well, those kins of things pretty much every society teaches and wants you to do anyways, religion aside.
But actually, instead of Christian, i'm more closely a Deist. A deist is someone who beleives in God, but that said God doesn't really interfere with the world. The founding fathers of the US were all deists too.I think God might make a miracle or two happen once in a while, and might nudge along little things in our lives, but refuses to take any major part in our lives. In fact (correct me if i'm wrong) but after God unleashed the great flood, he said to Noah something like "Never again will i interfere like this in the affairs of mankind". THAT is why he doesnt step in to stop war, famine, plague, etc, but he DOEs help us along in tiny ways, such as helping us overcome a problem or something (via praying). Although praying helps psychologically through givning us hope that we'll get through the problem, most likely there is a greater force involved. I, for one, have experienced situations that i thought i could never get out of, and so i prayed for help in solving the situation, and somehow, i got through it ok. And, it wasnt like my perseverance, willpower, or any of that crap helped me get through it, because i can tell you, i had NONE. NO will power, perseverance, etc. If some higher force didn't help me, then it couldn't have been anything. God gave us free will so we could do with it what we wanted, and although he wont interfere with us constantly, he'll help us along when we need it the most, usually.
As for Athiests, WHY don't you beleive in a god? I really havent seen any decent explanations as to why. Same to you, christians and other beleivers, lol. I want to start seeing some EXPLANATIONS here, ok? This is "Why do you beleive what you beleive" not, "What religion are you". IF you're only gonna post your religion, and make comments on other people's, then go to the other thread please. I'm serious.

have u ever just sate beneath a tree? you feel the wind on your face..somewhere nearby a squirrel runs up a tree branch...the grass feels so good beneath you...afterawhile you start feeling attuned to a sacred order of things. you feel it in everything living and in every stone. if there was no greater power i doubt we would exist...i doubt nature and science would exist as well. something laid down the rules for life, death, and evolution.

I had Christianity forced on me all through my school years. Teachers made fun of what I believed in and told me it wasn't possible. I think that just following something because someone else told you to is a waste of time. You should follow something because you've found your own reason to.
I believe in everything. I believe that all...Well most gods exist. I believe that they live in harmony somewhere.
If people want to make fun of me because of that, I say they're stupid, idiotic worms that need to worry more about what they follow. I hate the idea of just going along with something because it's written in a fancy book somewhere. I don't see why one person is right and everyone else is wrong, either.
I believe in what I believe in...Because I do. I found my own path, my own beliefs. Why should I believe in one single thing because most other people do?
It wouldn't make me happy and I'd be lying to myself. There are so many things out there...One singly religion can't just be right and every other one wrong. That doesn't make sense.

I dont really KNOW what to believe right now...
So, for RIGHT NOW, I claim to be Christian, which is what the rest of my family is...
