Well, i just beat this game the other day, and so i figured i'd rate it, lol. All in all, its actually a good RPG, although it could've been a little less 'gimmicky' (you know what i mean, lol). All in all, i give it a 8/10.

It had solid gameplay, and the dynamic battle system was awesome. Although, it got a little frustrating when an enemy kept attacking me right before firing off a spell >_<. But it definitely is a good RPG if you give it a chance. The story is pretty good, and the job system makes it interesting. Also, the addition of Via Infinito (the secret 100-floor dungeon) offers a good challenge, although it is almost impossible to beat it without the 'secret' job class that you need to fully complete every area to get. Also, it more or less requires you to be LV99, and such over-leveling makes the final stages of the game too easy. But that aside, it was a very good RPG, and definitely one of the better PS2 RPGs to-date.

it was a mixed bag with me. yes the job class system was fun and the real time battles made the game more dynamic. also the graphics were gorgeous. however...it had some of the worst dialogue ever, too much pop culture influnce, no summons,only three main characters,and buddy annoyed the hell out of me (or was it brother? i forget). for me it was a love hate relationship.

Everything else was corny, especially the talking...

I rate it the same as you Laggy... 5/10 mainly because of the very fluid active battle system and the Suiyin/Vegnagun thing was alright.

The mechanics, battle system, jobs etc., were great, one of the best ideas for RPG's. The story so-so, dialog crappy, and blitzball sucked, I loved bb from 10 and was beyond disapointed with what they did to it.

i'll give it a 7/10. pretty graphics and fun to play but not revolutionary. also, they need to drop the pop culture theming. still at least ff x-2 is a girl power rpg that can introuduce more young women gamers to the rpg fold.

that was the reason the square made FFX-2 how it is. square could not get the industry interesting to girls so they made a girl power FF

alot of ppl complained ff x was to linear but ff x2 was too random....i however admit to liking them both though not as much as some other ff games in the series.
