which characters are the most copied in fighting games... it's either the ryu/ken model or the ninja model in the MK games. I think so anyway...

i agree... and i cant think of the other... its a guy in one of the games that fights crazy, and crowls and walks on all 4's.... that fighting style is copied alot in other fighers where its a robot that can do it in some, the crazy looking guy in one, and a chick in another... idk if you get wtf im talking about >_>

i've seem many characters in a variety of fighters that look like ryu and the real martial arts legend bruce lee. capcom does have a bad habit of making 6 characters all with the same damn fighting style with just a few variations. in virtua fighter there main hero could have passed as ryu (i forget his name) and fei long and martial law are ways of having bruce lee in a fighter without using his actual name.

Let's see... Fighting game stereotypes...

~The "Karate Guy" : Usually in a gi, does some form of karate. Not surprising if they have some kind of ki projectile.

Ex : Ryu, Ken, Akuma, Dan, Sean, Ryo, Takuma, Kushnood Butt (Or Marco Rodrigez in the USA version), etc.

~The ninja : Usually has some part of their face covered, and are very quick characters... Not too much explanation needed here really. At least designs tend to vary here more than others.

Ex : Hanzo, Eiji, Guy, MK Ninja character pallet swaps, etc.

~ The military guy : More of a design stereotype than a character or a movelist stereotype.... a guy in a military outfit.

Ex : M.Bison, Rolento, Heidern

"Kung-Fu" master : Usually Chinese, usually old (not always, though), usually in Chinese style clothing. Their style isn't always Kung-Fu, but still, the design of the character is usually similar.

Ex : Gen, Lee (SF1), Lee Rekka (Last Blade), Yun, Yang, Chun-Li

~The Cute Girl : Pretty self-explanatory... sometimes they're overly cute, sometimes not.

Ex : Sakura, Yuri, Nakoruru, Athena, Kula, Akari, Lillith, Elena, etc.

~"Evil" Clones : "Dark" versions of characters that are otherwise not.

Ex. : Satsui no Hadou Ryu, Riot of Blood Iori, Violent Ken, Evil Nakoruru (can't remember her name), Evil Haohmaru (ditto), Black Hayato, Shadowlady, Shadow, "Sunburnt" Sakura, etc.




Those are the ones that come to mind immediately... there are more, obviously, but I can't think of them off the top of my head and don't feel like looking them up at the moment. =P
