Middle East Update:
Protests in Bahrain ( A major British ally and home to the US 5th fleet ) have become violent with the British government criticizing the government shooting into demonstrators.
Libya meanwhile has had it's second largest city and region defect, with popular support and even local military defecting. Forced to fight them with the aid of mercenaries - parts of the air force have defected to Malta after refusing to b...omb the civilian protesters who are now looting government weapon stores. Protests have now begun in the capital of Tripoli as Muammar al-Gaddafi is said to have fled to Venezuela.
Algeria has 2000 pro-democracy protesters clash with police and forced the capital on lockdown, while over 30k people march in Morocco in every major city.
This is after revolutions in Egypt and Tunisia, and government reforms in Jordan. Essentially every major middle eastern country is having some form of protest...
