Since i've recently gotten quake and quake 2, both games have been running flawlessly. So after beating the two games I decided to play the first quakes mission packs. I encountered a slight problem when opening the game.
The game starts to load with its loading screen like the in game command console and then it tries to go to the game main menu and is now stuck between the loading menu which isn't there anymore and the game menu which i can move about in it. Unfortunately after closing out of the game my computer screen ends up looking like

Which i end up having to force a restart because I have no idea how to end up fixing this problem without a computer shut down / restart.
Now my next question comes down to, what the hell is causing this when the original quake works pretty damn sweetly. Why won't the expansion packs work at all. Either Scourge of Aarmagon and Dissolution of Eternity.
Edit: I forgot to say I tried force checking the integrity of game files and it found nothing. So that option is sorta out :S
