Ok so i just got this game in the mail yesterday.. So far it's been a real blast! Two things i have noticed that i don't like... 1. Eddie's son is the bassist throughout the whole game.. Why not Michael Anthony? 2. There are no Sammy Hagar Era songs... It's all David Lee Roth... i've heard of almost every song on the game, but that's because i'm a van halen freak.. Other then those 2 things.. i'm perfectly fine with the game.. I'd give it.. an 8/10 because it's basically just like every other guitar hero.

Man, fuck Van Halen. They don't deserve to have their shitty albums sold, let alone deserve a game dedicated to them.

Most overrated band ever.

Van Hagar sucks. I'm glad they didn't include anything from them in the game.

Yeah, I was gonna say...no Hagar is a con for you?

Blue Dragoon

Yeah. I loved Hagar's songs. They were just... more.. soulful.. and to me, Sammy Hagar has a wayyyy better voice then David Lee Roth.. I'll fight with you on that one. lol

Wasn't this the game they were giving away FOR FREE when people bought GH5?

God damn what happened to this franchise?

Oh that's right, the talented developers left.

You know what band's music I was taught to play first when I was learning gee-tar? Van Halen, because their music is so goddamn simple.

Hell why does Van Halen get its own game while Queen just gets a DLC pack?

Better yet, what's next in the franchise? Guitar Hero: The Doors? With realistic acid popping, desert hallucinating mini game experience?

And then in the last level you just die in a fucking bathtub and you can never play the game again

1. You Really Got Me
2. Unchained
3. Ain't Talking bout Love
4. Running With the Devil
5. When It's Love

I know that You Really Got Me is a cover, but it's pretty much their song by now.

Obviously you do not know what you are talking about.. I'm just gonna stop right now with the arguing.. You are either a troll or talkin out your ass >.> If you are saying Van Halen is simple.. that's just dumb. Eddie Van Halen is one of the greatest guitar players alive.

Yeah, and The Monkees wrote their own music.

No, he isn't, and you've got to be pretty deprived of decent music to think that. But for what skill he does have, it's wasted on their crap songs in that crap band.

Even so, you have to wonder how much faith a company has in this game when they give it away for free.

They gave it away for free for guitar hero 5 to make more sales. Would you want to buy a game for 60 bucks and no extras, or a game for 60 bucks with a free game shipped to you? I would definately take the latter. Besides it was only free for that one month, when it comes out.. december something i think... It will be the same 60 dollar price all the other games are.

Then why come Lego Rock Band wasn't free? Why come Guitar Hero Metallica wasn't free?

Yeah man, Beatles Rock Band or Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero 4/Aersomith vanished from the market.

Metallica was out a few months after World tour and they were still getting the metallica game engine made. As for lego rockband, It is a different company, of course they will have different sell tactics.

GH5 was out a few months before Van Halen. So there you go. Why not couple it with Band Hero instead? The point is, it shows how much faith a company has in a product when they, quite literally, give it away for free. Van Halen is not a big enough name to sell a game on their own nor is the price tag justified. So to gain interest, they give it away to people who shell out cash for their yearly crappy grunge and emo and alt festival they call Guitar Hero.

Now, i do have to agree with you on guitar hero. It has the worst selection in music... but, i believe van halen is a big enough name where they could sell it alone, instead of giving it away with gh 5, and still alot of copies. Van halen is known world wide. They are a very popular band and i think you are underestimating them.

Fallout Boy is known world wide. Yet you don't see them jumping on the Guitar Hero: Fallout Boy wagon. Just because a band is big or has international appeal doesn't justify having a game dedicated to them. It worked for The Beatles because A: It's simply Beatles songs and no filler shit by other bands. B: The Beatles are arguably the most important band in terms of music today. C: It serves as a learning experience for people wanting to get into The Beatles and learn about their career. and D: Every song is unique, while they may not all be fun to play, the dreamscapes make every song unique. Plus they did the whole 'three way harmonies' thing, so it was more than a re hash of an earlier game but with focus on a main band.

They need to stop making dedicated games to specific bands. Harmonix is doing it right by making DLC packs for bands like Queen, Nirvana (WHY), Pearl Jam, and many others. Instead of focusing on making a game out of a band like Queen, they find albums or a bunch of great songs by them and put them up for DLC. I love The Pixies but I wouldn't play Guitar Hero/Rock Band Pixies edition. I would, however, purchase the Doolittle album for Rock Band 2 and I did and it is great.

The Van Halen stuff could've went as DLC and it would've been justified.
