Checking for interest.

So, like I've said earlier, I am sort of looking to get back into RPing, and I've heard a few people mention that they wouldn't mind if Afterworld was revived and lifted off the ground again.

I think we've lost at least one person who was involved originally, and possibly may have gained others who might not have been in the original group of players who might want to join in, but anywhoo.

I'd like to know whether people would be genuinely interested in giving it another go. This isn't a decision to revive it or not yet, it's more just testing the idea to see what people think.

I do have several other things going on right now (my FFL3 project is taking priority for me, and there are a few other things going on for me as well), so even if a decision is made, it more than likely will still be a bit before anything happens.

Also, a few things, if hypothetically speaking we do try to go for this again.

First, it'll be a complete restart. This way, people who were originally in it who either aren't here anymore or don't want to participate aren't going to be an issue in the story, and we won't have to worry about juggling in new characters if new people are interested. This also means that if anyone originally involved has another character in mind that they'd rather play for it than the one they had initially decided on, that they can swap things out.

Second, I will be playing NPCs, and only NPCs, if this does go through. I think a big issue on my side was attempting to come up with an overall plot and setting, trying to manage the NPCs, and also trying to take part as my own character. If I'm only in the "DM" position this time around, I think it'll avoid a lot of potential problems and will give a better chance of things holding together this time.

If (and again, this is still in the "what if" stage) we do decide to restart things, I'll spend some time trying to figure out ways for the RP to work well for everyone so that it has the best chance of staying afloat this time around.

I'd be all in for giving this another go, with the hope that it won't die like it did before. We know the problems and/or run-ins we've had during the production of the first incarnation, so if those are avoided and worked around, I really think we can have this goin' and it'll be great.

No worries.

The basic idea was that the RP took place in something of an afterlife, each of the characters involved died in their world in the first post, and wound up in said afterlife world together.

Here (http://www.evermoreforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19056) was the original attempt, if you'd like to read through it, though if this does go through, like I said, it'll be completely restarted, so the things in there may not wind up being completely relevant, but it'll give you an idea of where things were heading.

Um... maybe. I'm not sure about having more than one character per person. If you're talking about having multiple minor characters that have an important role with your main characters backstory make appearances or somesuch, then that's one thing (and there is definitely room for such things), but if we're talking playing multiple characters as full time main characters, I'm hesitant.

Though again, I'm not positive that this is going through just yet, though since it looks like almost everyone that was originally involved wants to go for it, I'm leaning much more towards that end now than I was.

Technically it never started, I did mention this was just me testing the waters to see who was interested and not actually an announcement that it was going to happen.

But, with the poll looking like it does, it's more than likely going to happen.

I want to have at least the major distraction of my current project out of the way before trying to devote time to this. I don't want this to flop again because I'm spreading myself too thin.

So, consider this to be a "release date TBA" sort of thing. It's going to be coming sometime in the near future, but I don't know exactly when. Probably not for at least another month or two, though, I have too much on my plate right now.

Honestly I'm really doubting this is going to get going until late September/early October at the earliest. I'm not even done with mapping on my current project, and I'm going to be really surprised if coding stuff doesn't take me longer than 2 months.

Granted, I may not be waiting until I'm completely finished with everything before starting this, I just want to have less on my plate than I do now before trying to set things up with this.

I would like to say yes but my lack of net access at home, combined with starting a new job soon, well... remember when I was holding up the whole RP with my inactivity?

I DO have a memory stick now. I can get on a computer rather frequently these days. I just can't get to EF whenever I want. If I can be like... an intermittant poster sort of alone and not meeting up with anyone until I can be sure I can get on regularly, then okay. Just... you know... don't want to be the cause for much groaning again. Even working on it at home, I would need to read the recent posts and rework mine on the spot if it clashes with anything recent, etc....

And while we did lose one of the originals, I did take over his character, so let me make a list as I remember...
