Favorite platformer?

What is your favorite platformer game ever?

I'm tied between Spyro 3 and GTA: VC. Both were excellent. Spyro 3 is more of a true platformer, but VC is magnificent in how well it was put together. I think i'll go with Spyro 3 though, as it is more of a platformer than VC.

GTA is more of an adventure game. And best platoformer would be Crash Bandicoot for me.

Well, i'm classifying Zelda as an adventure game, but since the lines are blurry, you might as well. I consider zelda a platormer with a slight RPG influence, lol.

primal was a great action game though the control scheme was a bit..ahem..akward. onimusha 2 and devil may cry were great action titles as well. since i show favortism towards elves i like zelda and jak 2 as well! lol

that reminds me... I beat Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance the other night with 199.4%.

update on my Harmony of Dissonance game...

I beat Boss Rush Mode, Hard, (you fight every boss in a row with no major powerups) with Juste and Simon. There's a code you can use in that mode of play that lets you play as Simon Belmont... (the version of him from the 1st Castlevania).

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time or Kingdom Hearts; if you'd consider either of them one. I don't really care for platformers.

I liked the Maximo games which are pretty much ghost n goblins redone in 3d. I'd say Devil may cry 3 is my favorite platformer but some would dictate it is more of a "serious" action game.

^second that but not all Sonics, the DC games were slightly worse than the Genesis era and games like GTA, I call crime simulation, a whole new genre. Same thing with MGS, stealth simulator good games not platformers. I also play a lot of Mario Games, great games all of them and you can't go wrong with Metroid, I consider the old ones platformers and the Donkey Kong Country games from the Snes era are also good. Ah, I can't narrow this down they're all tied for number 1.

Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Crash 1-3, and Spyro 1-3 were the best platformers on the current gen consule.

Gta is more of action/adventure game much like Zelda. A platfomer like Mario. Is were you mainly jump from platform, to platform in many different ways.
