No really.

Over the past few months this annoying person has stopped their stealing...Well, as far as we know.
They seem fond of stealing from other staff...So no one's complained, at least.

We have camera's installed in the locker rooms (I only found this out yesterday...They've been out of there for 3 days now but...I've been getting changed in the middle of the locker room >.< )
Anyways...The camera's seem to have put off whoever it was...

Until 3 days ago...The very day the camera's were removed.
They stole someones purse.
The next day they stole someones watch.
And today they stole my drinks.

I bought 2 drinks for tonight...Cos it's like an oven in my work!
I had a Ribena and a Diet Coke...
they were in the staff fridge for an hour...And then I discovered they were BOTH gone.
I'd even drank half the bottle of coke...

So whoever it was...They were desperate.

Thankfully...My manager replaced them but I also decided to report another incident along with it.

Now, before we start. Let me get this straight.
We have lockers and I use mine.
My purse and any other valuables are kept in my locker at all times, while I'm working.
But I have another bag, a reusable, cloth shopping bag.
I keep my clothes in it. With a comb, a lint roller and a body spray.

Now, I put my clothes on top of everything else and tied the bag handles in a knot.
I placed the bag under a plastic chair in the locker room.
I've ALWAYS done this...

On this day, however...
Someone decided to go through it...Throwing my clothes onto the dirty floor and leaving them there.
They then used half my can of body spray and left it inside a toilet cubicle.

I didn't report it because I felt stupid...You know, it's my own fault and all that.
But I reported that today, along with the drink stealing...

My manager said she'll file and official complaint for me tomorrow.

My manager, luckily...Believed me and she replaced my drinks without saying another word.

I'm wondering why remove the cameras when they obviously deterred the acts?

I'm wondering how you didn't notice the cameras.

I'm sure you'll find out who did it soon enough, and at least nothing too valuable was lost.

Also, I thought this thread had more information on the upcoming Thief game. Dammit Holly!

If I'm going to have something stolen from me, I'm okay with my drinks missing.

I'm wondering how you didn't notice the cameras.

...CCTV camera's...Are micro nowadays, you know.
Plus they hide them so you don't know where they are.

In vents and on decoy jackets, bags and stuff like that.

If they were big enough to see and everyone knew where they were...It would kinda defeat the object of having them.

If you know exactly where a camera is...You can evade if easily and position yourself so it can't see what you're doing.

Anyways. I forgot to update this.

It turns out that they weren't stolen...

Another staff member threw them out in a fit of rage.

She apologized to me today and she said "I see a Ribena in that fridge every day! I thought it was weeks old! So when I cleaned the fridge, I threw it out."

She offered to replace it but since the management had already done that...I didn't see any need for it.
I accepted her apology and told her not to worry about it.
I'm just glad she told me. The fact that she was honest enough to let me know...Kinda makes it impossible for me to be mad at her.

If I'm going to have something stolen from me, I'm okay with my drinks missing.

I know what you mean. There are more valuable things that could be stolen.

I'm just glad that it was all a misunderstanding.
But it still doesn't change the fact...That the Thief is back and has stolen from numerous people already.

They were so desperate before...
They were stealing Umbrella's, shoes, coats, scarves, random cosmetics and food shopping...
It was...Quite creepy, actually.

I think it's more like someone with a serious problem...And they just have to steal...Rather than someone who wants all this stuff.
I mean...Eww! Why would you steal someone elses shoes!
That's so gross!

So...they didn't put up warning signs or anything? Just installed cameras in the woman's locker room and thats it? ._.

Yup.

They don't have to tell us because the locker room is just a small room with a coat rack and lockers and doesn't count as a changing room.
Since the locker room is separate from the toilets, they don't have to tell us or warn us.
They HAVE to warn people that camera's are used in the store but they are not obligated to tell us where.

If we decide to use the locker room to get changed, that's entirely up to us.

Ouch. But this raises the question of how did the thief know?

There you go. Exactly what I was thinking.

So it must be someone who's actually personal friends with a higher up or it's a manager or someone.
The thing is...It's highly unlikely to be a manager. In these cases...It's normally a part-time staff member or temporary staff member...
But I think it's someone who must be related to or close to a manager.
Which means they're probly even less likely of being suspected.
