One problem I often see with RPs is that people have great ideas but are too afraid to post them in an RP forum because it goes against what seems to be popular. I don't think we have to worry too much about that here, but on a different forum many of the RPs are vampire focused (which I and several others are in the process of changing) and so many great RPs get swallowed in the sea of shitty vampire high school or vampire capturing teen girl RPs.

While this thread may not be a necessity, it certainly couldn't hurt.

Simply post an idea you have for an RP, like a brief summary of the RP and the genre. It helps garner interest before the thread is even made. Think of it as a preview for a big movie.

I don't have much time o.o;;

I've been thinking all morning but nothing amazing comes to me.

I really like horror stuff.
But I also like things that are set in places where you either don't have access to super technological things...Or they simply don't exist.
I kinda like...Run down worlds or just simple worlds.

I don't mind modern. But if you go for "modern" I like it be more advanced. Rather than what day-to-day life is now.
I don't mind super advanced worlds. I just want something that isn't so realistic that it's going to put me to sleep.

If I want realism...I'll step outside my front door.

I don't have a whole idea.
But I thought I'd at least post. Since...No one else has.

What's always gravitated me towards RPs is the sense of interaction between players, like as a team fighting against NPCs or the story itself.

I had an idea a few days ago for a story that could be transformed into a RP. Think of a major historic event like WW2 or the Cold War or hell, even further back to the American Revolutionary War. These are unbelievably world-altering events. What if something happened? The world was shaped completely different due to the outcome of one of these events. What if Nazi Germany had taken over almost all of Europe? What if nuclear war broke out between Russia and the United States? Or better yet, which might better fit the interests of a broader spectrum of RPers, what if Magic/Witchcraft was not outlawed? Could it have been the real deal? If so, how would each these events shift our planet alone or in tandem with one another? That might be an idea for a RP topic. A world dramatically shifted.

Well, I'm running a few games right now - and ran some before...
These were in person though, not on written RP... But let me post them and see if anyone likes them...

Scion: The gods exist - from all pantheons - but have faded in the modern world.
They still interact though, and sire children - who themselves are seen as the future, to eventually become gods themselves.
Various things are occuring as the end of the world seems to be coming, and the world is breaking as Titans ( imprisoned by the gods in the beggining ) escape, and something larger in the world is occuring, perhaps dealing with the new faiths that replaced the gods. (christianity, judaism, islam, buhddist...etc )
Players would be a scion born to any pantheon in the world - Greek, Norse, Aztec, Japanese, Voodoo, Russian, Celtic, Etc etc....
They are given relics, and guidence from their various gods - and through such discover what is occuring in their world as they grow in power.

Western deadlands...
The players are various characters in a Steam Punk / Classic western story...
Many of the things they encounter are in fact modern things from our culture...( I gave the players the option of them actually being from modern day, and waking up in this strange world - thus everything seems almost as if from a dream, but too real...)
If you like westerns, Steam punk, and music from the 50s to 80s - this would be ok, my players liked it...

Warhammer!!!
This is something many already know...
This world is a strange warped version of the real world in various points of history...
There is absolute and very real evil, and even the good is scary...
The game has hints of Gothic, Fantasy, and Epic...
It's like LotRs, but more serious and violent - and not as happy...
When I ran this game - which is still going, I made it an evil campaign - but previous ones have been regular or good campaigns...

Hell,
This is a weird one...
Similar to Afterworld..., characters begin by dying...
they are sent to Hell for various reasons..., they learn many go there...
They learn though that there is hope...
they can leave by making their way through the world, and reaching the end - crossing over to heaven or whatever else is over there - it's for sure better than hell...
They find that people are judged by their deeds - the worse they are, the farther they are put - further into hell - further they have to go..., more risks of being trapped there further and further...

The world works in a manner the players don't know..., and as they go - they learn more and more...
they themselves change the story by revealing more and more they have done to deserve being there...
and overcoming such things - or having to fight them...

This game is similar to Dante's Peak...

Any horror or Warhammer RP I'd be in for (though I know the 40k universe MUCH better than the fantasy one.)

Maybe I've been playing too much Ace Attorney games, but I'd love for some kind of RP in a courtroom. I'm willing to work a story like that if it's going to be widely accepted. But I'm pretty flexible to other people's suggestions for stories and work in base of that.

If this were the case.
I call the annoying, useless sidekick character!

I'm not intelligent enough to actually like...Work alone with stuff like this.
So I'd need to be the person who just follows someone around and helps them out.

Also. Is that acceptable?
I heard someone mention Politics. I'm not too good with the stuff. I'm not very good with...History, either.
Anything very intelligent...
So if we ever did something like that... Could I perhaps..."team up" with someone.
I'd feel more comfortable having someone to follow...Rather than doing my own thing.
I'd quite happily be a sidekick, rather than do my own thing completely in cases that involve...Well, things of great intelligence.

Is that alright?

Well wouldn't that be up to the creator of the RP? Personally I see nothing wrong with it, given the circumstances.

And also, I have an idea that is kinda loosely based on Lux Pain. I'll just post the working summary:

The scent of the blood was overpowering; and it was impossible to escape-blood was everywhere: the floor, the walls, the ceiling, even pooling around the bodies of what used to be the closest of friends. Fourth case this week.

All around the globe strange cases have been popping up. Increased violence. Murder. Suicide. All from people showing no symptoms of insanity or mental illness. One minute the class clown is telling a hilarious joke, the next minute he yells out thoughts of wanting to bring harm to his best friend. Police officers are at a loss, there simply isn't an explaination. How could so many people suddenly snap, yet appear perfectly normal after so many psychological profile exams and similar tests? Has the world gone mad?

Deep within the offices of INTERPOL are few who know the answer. An unseen, undetectable virus that infects someone's mental psyche, filling them with dark, twisted, murderous thoughts. A special group of people with a unique set of mental abilities have been called to deal with the threat. Controlling emotions, reading minds, being able to detect the presence of the virus, each has a different ability meant to contain the outbreak. Their job is simple: Seek out any infected individuals before they infect others. If left undealt with, it could truly be the end of days. But with new strands rumored to be on the rise, meant specificaly for the youths of the world, their job suddenly gets a lot more complicated.

The origin of the virus has been traced to a the largest city in the world, a city known simply as Fort City. The special team, made up of young men and women, find themselves sent to Fort City to seek out the host body; by getting rid of the host, only then can the virus truly be stopped. To deal with the threat of the youth infection, the agents find themselves going undercover at different locations, chief among them being Fort City High School, where several outbreaks have already been reported. And with the ever increasing danger of the squad members getting infected as well, the stakes are raised. It's a race with death, and death is in the lead. Locate. Eradicate. Contain. Peer into the Abysses of the Mind.

I also have a 'horror' themed one:

Abbey Academy the most well known art school in the nation. Many dream of entering its halls. From painting and sculpting to film and music, Abbey has it all. But lately there have been strange goings-on in the academy. Students once praised for their beautiful artwork have begun painting crude drawings of a woman in a colored dress. Musicians who once wrote meaningful lyrics are beginning to write dime-a-dozen songs about a mysterious woman. Fashion designers start to make patchy, ugly, gowns. It seems as if this strange woman has taken over the minds of certain students.

Asking the principal only brings up more questions, as if she were hiding something about the identity. Even crazier, a few days after the apperance of the woman, the students exposed to her forget about her. As if she never existed. But some can't forget. She haunts their thoughts, they can hear her voice, hear her calling for help. They are told to ignore it; that their minds are playing tricks on them. But when students begin to dissappear days after being exposed to the woman, suddenly those students hearing the voice of the woman decide to unravel the haunting mystery. Who is the mysterious woman? What is the fate of the missing students? What is the secret the principal has? It is up to the students to discover. Suddenly Abbey Academy isn't looking so prestigious...

And also I have one set in a fantasy world that deals with political strife, namely a usurping and the many factions that want to remove the current evil Queen from power.

All of these I have had for a while, but they never really went anywhere. I'm interested in hearing what you guys think.

If I were RPing to these themes, I'd have to think of a Silent Hill storywriter kind of way. But that's just me - what I need to do to make it work.

I think the basis of the story should be simple..., with a clear direction for the characters - much like afterlife...
We should continue putting ideas up, and eventually decide or at least begin to narrow down...

Could every one begin to state what they would like to see in a campaign...?
