Well, a public beta, that is.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/beta-download.aspx

Looks like IT guys got their turn to try Win7 out. Now Microsoft wants YOU.

The 32-bit version of Windows 7 Beta is available in five languages: English, German, Japanese, Hindi, and Arabic. The 64-bit version is available in English, German, Japanese, and Arabic. Windows 7 Beta is available for a limited time, to the first 2.5 million people who download the software. Just choose the version that fits the system you'll be using for the test, pick your language and click go to register for and download the Beta.

I can't stress out enough how awesome Windows 7 is turning out.
XP and Vista users, prepare to upgrade on day one.

P.S. I'd advise either using an old PC or run Win7 thru a virtual machine. Last I checked, VirtualPC was a free download from Microsoft's site. It's limited to 2.5 million people, so don't miss out on trying first hand this great OS.

P.S.S. Oh lawd, I seem like a Microsoft advetising guy.
Mighty Apple, please punish me.

Honestly there is something wrong with an OS when it requires gigs of RAM as a minimum to be stable. At this rate we are going to be able to run nothing but an OS and a single game unless you have a modo capable of holding 45gb of RAM.

"Mac + Games = There was a time when all game developers prefered to publish games on the Mac. And they ran good. Then slowly, they went multiplatform. And it was all good. Then Microsoft came with DirectX. Game developers saw an opportunity to develop for PCs since they were on most households. Then things started looking wrong. Microsoft monopolized the computer gaming market."

Thats wonderful, unfortunately, right now macs aren't build for games. Believe me, I love a history lesson as much as the next guy, but, until a mac can run the best, most advanced, hadware demanding game on the market today...macs will remain in their place.

ps. deja vu anyone?
