I'd like to hear everyone's pros, not cons, of both major candidates for the Presidential election. It recently occured to me that alot of people, myself included, are too stuck on the cons - this happened when I asked someone why they were supporting McCain over Obama on IRC, only to have them rapid fire about 15 bad things about Obama (half of which weren't true.) And indeed, I have been focusing on the bad side of McCain as well, and want to take a break from that.
Here's my list.
Obama:
- Knows how to work the system, even if he has to break a few eggs.
- Stands for all the things I've stood for in the past (a misspeak of this point led to several classmates of mine claiming that they would write my name in on the primary ballot.)
- Is masterful at communicating both verbally and non-verbally - a good trait for our chief diplomat to have.
- Was right 3/4 times regarding middle east military policy, even without the experience that he's supposed to have for that kind of thing.
McCain:
- Experience
- History of being a maverick, which I wish he would get back to.
- Funny guy, and seems overall likable in person, political views aside.
