Since of the upcoming election. I decided to try and take that Nolan Chart quiz again and see what place I stood in the political world when it came to it overall. I know its not that accurate :P but it still is pretty decent me thinks.
Screen cap and post your results

I'm inside the conservative chart bordering the libertarian and centrist locations, just as I actually am.

I'm just inside the Liberal part of the diamond, close to the borders of both Centrist and Libertarian.

I'm...a centrist but closer to conservative with a slight notion towards libertarian.
Not totally shocking, I'd wager.

Your answers suggest that you are a Statist. The yellow star shows more precisely where you fall within the Statist region of the Nolan chart. Whatever that is. :hmm
— What Is A —
STATIST?
Here's a more detailed explanation of what it means to score in the "statist" category.
Statists tend to favor a great deal of government control over individual behavior and over the economy. That's why WordIQ.com defines "statism" as "any social or political system in which state intervention plays a major role." The Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary defines it as a "concentration of economic controls and planning in the hands of a highly centralized government."
This belief in government power doesn't necessarily make statists undemocratic. Many statists believe government represents the collective will of the people, and they usually argue that a powerful government is necessary to build a better society. As WordIQ.com noted, "supporters of statism argue that [government power] ultimately benefits the individual himself, since the public good involves the personal good of the maximum number of individuals."
Statists support far less individual liberty than any other political ideology. Statists tend to distrust the free market, advocate centralized planning of the economy (including high taxes, strict regulation of business, and even government ownership or control of major industries), oppose "alternative" lifestyles that go against the beliefs of a majority of citizens, and downplay the importance of civil liberties. In short, statists consistently doubt that economic liberty and individual freedom are necessary, practical, or workable in today's world.
Some statists call their political beliefs populism, socialism, or communitarianism. At the extreme, undemocratic end of the statist spectrum, statism also encompasses communism, fascism, and other forms of totalitarianism.
that doesn't sound like me at all. *shrug*

Right between Liberal and Libertarian. Incidentally, fuck party lines, especially in the upcoming election. Look into their policies, ask people knowledgeable about them, or just read it in the news. If you vote based on a label you are killing democracy.

Well if you all ready know that you fit into a political party then you all ready know who you're voting for based on that political affiliation. I understand what you're saying though. If someone needs this quiz to figure out where they really stand politically, ten questions is not enough of a gauge to discover where you stand in an election.

It's typically a sound bet, but usually a person won't agree with their party's ENTIRE agenda. For example, a war-sick republican would want to think twice about voting McCain, or vice versa for Obama.

A lot of the questions asked were not specificly liberal or conservative questions in my opinion.
Gay marriege for instance is considered a null issue of no importance by traditional conservatives....
This is seen as a mere distraction of true conservative issues like economy, government spending, defence, taxes, and government programs...
