I'm leaving soon to go to Dallas for A-Kon. I'll be there until Sunday afternoon.

I'm back with a broken Akon cherry.

I had an amazing time. :)

a lot of the pics are on my myspace page. It'll be easier for you guys to see them if you just go there. Most of the pics with random cosplayers while we were drunk are in the 'coming soon' category.

but some are on my page now. :thumb

The majority of them are me and my best friends that got a room together. (and amazingly all made it to the con at the same time and in one piece)

Some notable things that happened were...

Meeting This Guy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinichi_Watanabe) by chance in the elevator.

Seeing Versailles (http://www.myspace.com/versaillesjp) and watching my friend India go ultra fangirl over them. It was hirarious.

Almost talking the Burger King King into fighting Ronald McDonald.

Getting drunk and wandering around the remnants of the con at 3:30 am (and not remembering 1/4 of the pics that were on my camera)

There was more... but you would have had to have been there.

Attendance was around 17,000 people. (the biggest Akon ever).

What is this A-Kon exactly??? Is it just a thing where people dress up???

A-Kon is the 3rd largest and longest consecutively running Anime/Video Game/Japanese Culture convention in the U.S. It follows Otakon (2nd) and Anime Expo (1st).

If it wasn't so far away from me I would be there. The only way I could go is if I flew. I drove about 5 1/2 hours to get to A-Kon. I couldn't afford paying for gas to get all the way to Otakon.

It's all good though... I'm going to Animefest (also in Dallas) at the end of August. It isn't as big as A-Kon but it's still a good enough size to not be lame. :thumb
