As I'm sure you all know the annoyance of having to reboot your laptop because you had it on the whole day and it started to overheat. Well, heres a really really simple way to keep it from over heating (especially in this freakish heat: for all those of you in CA).

Tools you'll need; a simple binder (size doesn't matter), a large zip-lock bag (or some other leak-proof bag, and ice.

Just from the tools I'm sure you can figure out where I'm going with this. (Bag+Ice)+binder=nice cool pack that (when you laptop is sitting on it) cools enough to simulate room temperature (about 68-72 degrees). Just remember, the laptop goes ABOVE the icepack inside the binder.

This is also a good way to keep your lap cool during the summer ^-^

It's also a good way to wet your pants and make it look like you had an accident, since bags have been known to leak. Just pointing that out.

When that bag accidentally leaks onto your laptop, I want you to think of me.

This is mostly for home use...unless you plan on lugging around a binder and an icepack around with you >_>
Meaning, keep it on your desk, keep some paper towels under it and all will be well

mal: thats the point of the binder and keeping your laptop on top of it...since the condensation isn't strong enough to get through 2 layers of plastic and 1 layer of cardboard and since water doesn't leak upwards the laptop isn't in any danger

Just replace the Ziploc bag and ice with refreezable ice packs. Also, a manila/file folder could be used in place of a binder.
Just a thought...
