who here plays something. I've been playing guitar for quite some time. most of you already know that though........... to make it more interesting, what kind of music do you like to play? I'm really into death metal, so most of the stuff I write is in that Genre of music, but I do like teaching myself songs from RPGs, and doing a little fingerstyle classical.

i've been playing guitar in a band for a couple years, but in the past 6 months i've also been working on keys and drums. i still am not super duper at keyboards, but i've gotten quite decent at drumming. bass too obviously, but i think just about anyone who can play guitar wouldn't have any trouble w/ bass.
classical finger plucking is ****ing hard, i give you mad props for working on that. i'm ok w/ a couple finger plucking, but if it's like 4 or 5 finger plucking like Steve howe from Yes, **** that. i'm not going to attempt that for a couple more years.
anyone good at singing? i ****ing suck at singing....i don't really know why. tone def perhaps...
is there anyway we can share our recordings on here?

thanks. it's taken a lot of practice to get decent at it. I can't do that crazy Rondo Alla Turka fingerstyle, but some simpler slower progressions I can do. A friend of mine may still have some MP3s of our 2nd album... I'll check with him and see if he still has them. other than that, I don't know.

what was your band called? My Grandad does that finger plucking stuff really well, i duno how though. Also.. I play nothing other than keyboard and piano, and i dont even have lessons. All i mean is that i can play music on them lol. Its fun to work out songs from games or just songs, like work out the melody.

i think not taking lessons is the way to go, though. it's so fulfilling to teachyourself something.
btw, i've never tried it w/ game music, but i like taking hard rock guitar parts and making them into piano ballads, lol.

I think you are talking about a Ukulele.
there are a lot of very affordable guitars out there.. so don't give up on finding one.
here are a few links to some "starter" guitars that aren't half bad.
