I had myself a slight scare earlier about some stupid spyware BS. So if im gone for a bit you will know why but nothing may come of it at all. I just thought i'd let you guys know in case my activity becomes none for a while. Hopefully it was nothing at all.

If it gets too bad, a simply system recovery would fix it right up.

Yes that is true if I can find that disc, I think we lost it a long time ago but i'm sure we could always order another one.
It seems to be rather ok now, and im hoping it stays that way.

Disc? I've never needed a disc to do it on my computer. It's a non-destructive system recovery, not a complete reformat. All of the stuff on your computer will still be on the computer (you just might have to reinstall some stuff) but all of the viruses and spyware will be gone

What she means if you have a system running on XP, Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Recovery. Although, speaking from experience, it doesnt fix everything.

Well, that's not how I do it, either. I turn off the computer, and then when it's rebooting, there's a screen that shows up for a second or two. Press F10 or whatever it say to press to go into the menu screen, and then you select "system recovery". That's how I do it.
I think it's different from the type of recovery you mentioned, Bloo. Though I should try it that way sometime to be sure

Start > Run > cmd.exe > Format c:\
No, seriously. Spyware is the devil and must be OBLITERATED~

System recovery sets itself up with resotre points in XP, but on Vista, you need to set up your own, so I had to do a complete reformat. I hope you can find the disc you're looking for.

Were you browsing online when it popped up? I ask because sometimes pop-up ads appear claiming your PC has spyware, adware, etc..., when it's really just some site trying to sell you their anti-[fill in the blank] software.
If you really do have some sort of spyware, why not just run a couple anti-spyware programs?

I will try some of that if it continues and if not I hope I can find the disc for it as well or get a new one.

I've been gone a bit this week, because of the hassle of being online with a slow comp and all of that. I ran my Verizon spyware and anti-virus that comes with that internet and it did nothing to solve the problem really so I will have to find the system restore disc and use it.
Hopefully it will all be over soon and my comp will be better than ever and as good as new.
