How many of you guys have heard of this Prog. Rock/Metal band? They are my all time favorite band and I saw them in concert earlier this year.

lucky bastard. they're one of the few metal bands I haven't seen live. John Petrucci is one of my all time favorite guitarists. He's lightyears away from almost everyone else.

Maybe I'll have to try them out, I checked their website and it looked pretty cool, I'm always looking for writing music.

Their songs are very intricate, from the way the notes sound when they are tripled to the way the lyrics sound with the notes. They are the type of band that you really have to think about what the lyrics mean, not just hear them but read and study in a way. Like one of their CD's is wrote out like a play, Metropolis Pt:2 Scenes From a Memory. Also you can tell that their style has changed over the years if yo listen to their first album, When Dream And Day Unite, and their newest one, Train of Thought, you will know what i mean... ok enough encoherent rambling for one night :sweatdrop
