For the most part - I attempt to keep my political views to myself when with others ( which I sometimes not do here...).
But today I really had to react to what I believe is just racist and misleading...

Though I have always been a supporter of John McCain - someone who has done much through the congress and is luckily gaining in the polls despite being far behind -
...I understand that he most likely will not win the nomination...
Thus I am also a strong supporter of Barack Obama.

He is a progressive candidate who calls for heavy reform.
He is also black.

But this is actually not the problem - as most people are too afraid to touch such an issue...
Nor do they even try to touch the fact he did drugs when he was young. If Clinton did it - what can they say....

What has truly been going around and was repeated by a friend was his religion.
According to her - and her father who is a police officer and former military - Barack Obama is a muslim, was raised as a muslim, attended a muslim camp during his teens, and they say they would never vote for him because he could always be a terrorist...

I was shocked by her conclusion.
For anyone out there who doesn't know - Barack had a white mother and black Kenyan father. The father was raised muslim, but was an atheist most of his life.
Barack was born and raised in Hawaii were he attended public schools.

The only truth to it is that his mother divorced his father and moved him to Jakarta, Indonisia. She married a Jakartan who was also muslim - but not a practicioner.

Barack would first attend a Catholic school there starting at five - and then went to a public school that was mostly muslim until the age of 10. From there he was sent to Hawaii to study in public schools again until graduation and eventually going to Colombia law school.

Look, there's really nothing wrong with being a muslim...
I have read and studied the koran, and I believe it to be a portion of belief that is truly missing in many...
But I'm aware of the fact this is a touchy subject for someone running for president....,
and I hate the fact it is being used ( as I keep coming across this false information ), to change other's beliefs...

There is nothing I hate more than one using lies to change the beliefs and opinions of people...

In truth, he is a christian - and has been most of his life...
He turned from a bad time in his life and began to help in the local church..., being led to a particular church by a friend and pastor...

Barack in truth is somewhat secular, not as religious as your normal candidate. This shows more truth than most things, as most of the poeple he was raised with were not particularly religious either...

Well, I'm just throwing this out there...
If you disagree, that's up to you...
I just hate this guy taking critic he shouldn't...

I know there's a lot of ignorant people out there...
and the people that shape this ignorance by feeding them what they want...
I just hope I can catch the ear of someone ...

If you don't believe me - check yourself...
It's always best to find one's own truth...

I'm as strong a supporter of Obama as you'll find. But there's too much taboo about hiim and too many stupid people out there for him to win. Just as long as its not that cunt hilary.

The fact that he was born to a non-praciticing muslim father and raised around muslims leading to him being a terrorist is about as reasonable as saying that a Catholic candidate would lead a crusade. Actually, it's less reasonable, considering that he's more active as a christian than he was as a muslim.

I'm saying that thinking that America would use reason is the least reasonable thing you've said.

I'm saying that thinking that America would use reason is the least reasonable thing you've said.I didn't say they would, I said that the attitude was unreasonable.

Pointing out a fact and not understanding why it isn't accepted are different things.
