Well, I tried out for Speech Team last week. Results were posted today. I. MADE. THE. TEAM.

I am in two events. Prose Reading and Impromptu Speaking. The former is where I read a selection from a novel or what have you. The latter is simple. The judges give me a topic and I have to talk about it on the spot. No preparation. Just get the topic and go. It's like improv. Two events means that I have double the pressure at tournaments. But I can manage.

For the prose reading, I know exactly what to pull from. My favorite author, Mr. Haruki Murakami. It was, in fact, one of his books that made me want to audition in the first place.

Good job then. Both of those events would kill me if I were ever in them. Guess that means I won't be trying out for the speech team then...

Now go! Speak like you've never spoken before!

Holy fuck, I have a problem. Our first team meeting is today after school. But at the same time are play rehearsals. This is going to be a problem.

We never had anything like that at ym school, congrats I guess. Be sure to think before you speak I guess.

Gratz droog. More stuff you do now will affect you in a good way later on in when you go to college in your records. :)

Congrats, Droog! It sounds pretty fun o.o; We never had anything like this when I was in school...It was no fun.

Yay, Droog! I wish my school had more of a variety of clubs. That's right, there's not even a speech/debate team at my school.. o.o
