I don't think so. supprised I said that huh...
99% of the games that are roms are past their prime, so no one's really getting hurt by them... well, maybe the used game business.

same here. there are a lot of games on the NES that I either don't have anymore or never owned. I used to have about 40 NES and classic arcade games on my comp.

I used to have roms on my computer. Mainly the ones I had were of games that were either never released over here or games I didn't own. Actually now that I think about it, I had some games on the computer that I did own...so no I don't see anything wrong with it..some roms need better translations though..lol

I see nothing wrong w/ roms of old games at all, lol. They're usually hard to find, and expensive, so why not?

I love emulation. It's a great way to experience games I used to love, and games I never got to experience the first time around. I've been downloading lots of GameBoy Color and Nintendo 64 games today and yesterday, and it's much easier and cheaper to do it this way.

Me luffs teh emulation I emulate up to n64 (i have dial up so its hard to download roms) I see nothing wrong with emulation cuz what are you gonna do? Go out and buy an NES game and a system that auctually works, I mean come on its alright with me

Although i condone it, i dont emulate, lol. It isnt that i dont want to or anything, i'm just too lazy and stuff :P
I know sites that you can get stuff from, so it would really just be a matter of doing teh downloading stuff =/

:D do i even gotta say what i think?
lets see last check i had 2k snes roms and 1k nes roms with a few ps1 and ps2 roms some gba roms and stuff.
The way i get it the more they decide to screw me out of gettign games the more roms i get, so effectively gaming companies can get on their knees and lick my crotch before i even contemplate getting rid of them lol

Playing emulators from PS, N64, DC and all the next gen systems are wrong, the business can still make money. But emulating older 16 bit and older gens are okay, since the makers aren't gonna lose or gain any money either way.

I have no problem with older/unavalible games, however, if the game companies don't make the money they will start jacking prices so I don't with newer/games I can buy used.

so say i make games, say they are well known games and you waited 3 years for it.
Say i just released a document which said ' Screw you im not send my game out there because your gay'
Now umm...if you found a rom of this game what are the chances that you will think ha ha fuckers i got your game for free instead of no i mustnt its bad and im a looser noob?

i dont think its wrong to get N64 or DC games.. DC games are hard to find now a'days.
i dont really think to bad about getting ps1 or GBA roms, i have ^_^
thats like saying downloading music is wrong, but we've all done it!
we are gamers my friends, we will get the game and play it, no matter what it takes.. emulation is just one of the things it takes sometimes :)

I agree with idgaf, but also w/ fly. If fly wants to gdownload a Suikoden 3 ROM, and play it for free, then by all means he should, considering they never released it over here. (in australia)

There's nothing wrong with them because if it's a more recent game then most likely if you enjoy it, you'll go out and buy it anyways cos sitting at the computer playing it all the time can be a pain so there isn't anything wrong with it. Not in my opinion, anyways. I like to think of them as trials or a way of be young again. Since it's hard to get ahold of some of the classics.
I own almost every game I have a ROM for. Mostly GBA games, but I have some NES roms too. Gotta love Kung Fu.
Anyway, I think if you buy an emulation from the company who makes the game it's fine
