Is it real, a sense gained from living and training with the concept of combat and danger...
or simply gathered after focusing the mind and understanding a general feeling present in all fluid action...

Is there a sixth sense - that allows you to sense danger or coming harm a split second or two before it happens, or to react without though to incoming attacks even when one's conscious is not aware of them...

If you believe in such things - do you believe you've had cases of it coming out...?

I think that it could be either due to training or just a sixth sense that you gain as you travel through life. I mean there are plenty of people who have probably never trained in the martial arts or meditation or anything like that, that can just sometimes sense something about to harm them. Sometimes a person just has a bad feeling about something and they are right to feel so.

I'm not sure if it can really be explained perhaps we are all born with a sense to protect ourselves from serious injury and death and we just don;t know it. We know when something is wrong with our bodies sometimes even when a doctor says that nothing is wrong. It is a weird thing, the will to live.

I think the so called 6th sense is just a intuition of sorts. As in you've been through it before so you know what you may expect so would be ready for stuff and or know where the stuff may be. I really don't believe in real psychic powers or possible 6th senses like that.

I believe in the spidey sense. I think it's more like intuition but you fortify it with experience as you go through scenarios, you just pick up how things work. It's entirely possible that some are better at it than others, and I believe it's true.

I've had sixth sense moments myself, but usually not while playing a game or in paintball or anything that involves battle, usually it'd be just out of the blue.

I believe its present in everyone, but that it's something that has been so out of use with us that it basicly is not something we really use even when we need it.
and when we do feel it, just vaguely, we ignore it...

It comes out though through training - but also from dangerous work or lifestyles...
Police, Firefighters, and some Military...
or even PIs, Bounty Hunters, and other such job lines...

What it is is really unknown...
I have a theory that it's a combination of several factors together - all senses being transmitted at a sub-conscious...
but - on another note, from what I've learned and seen, all senses could be factored out and there's still something more - that takes over the body even...

Basic training though comes lacking from what I have seen though..., as many who have done martial arts and only reached a certain point ( mentally ) do only so well as compared to novices who think differantly...
A certain person needs to reach a certain calm, along with a point where he also breaks from the basic construct of his art...
This has become clear to me seeing the Godan test in my art, where my instructors will literally know who will pass and who will not...
Rigid and self confident men of several years will fail...
Fluid and open people of only a few years will pass though...

Thus why we don't build a technique for every situation - instead we keep ourselves open, and allow ourselves to move and improvise to the situation...

I guess the differances are arts like kung fu, ninjutsu, and jeet kun do - as opposed to Karate, TKD, and most forms of Kenpo...

I've levitated my DS before... but are we talking about a different sixth sense?

All I know is that my father went to Vietnam he said that ihe really didn't think about it, he just did what he was told and told himself that he was coming home. He stayed 11 months in the bush just so he could come home early. He was a radio operator, and he only got nicked once on the right leg, and once had he antenna shot off. I don't know about 6th sense, but he stayed alive somehow.

It was probably more out in the open back in the day when we had to hunt for our food and everything instead of going to the super market. Afterall some animals are dangerous to hunt and then you had other people would would harm you like rogues and bandits and such. Then of course all of the war and things in times past.

Yeah - we had to always be aware of dangers around us...

A comrade of mine stated something very interesting that he had learned over the years about such things...

He believed we didn't always have it on either -
we would shut it off at home, or when with good friends and family..., and heighten it when in dangerous positions...

The reason:
If we kept it on - and those who do keep it on all the time, lose control of it, and also begin to slip mentally...

From what he and I've seen - there's more than enough examples of some people we know who have jsut become too paranoid for their own good and just lost part of their minds...
it's all part of their work I guess..., one just needs to find a balance...

But defenitely - there must be something one gains after being in the woods on your own...
