i thought about this somewhat and i realize there are alot of talented ppl here. imagine if we all got together to do a game idea. it would proably be great. anyway here are the roles i think people on ef would be good at.
leknaat, kenny, lath= character design, artistic direction. everyone knows leknaat, kenny, and lath have pumped out some good art over time. they'd be perfect for artistic direction both for enviorments and characters. i'm sure there are other good artists that have joined the fold too but i just got back so i don't know them all.
fairy of death= editor in chief: noone is a stickler for perfection quite as much as fairy. he'd definetly be a good editor in chief knowing what good stuff to leave in and what crap to cut out. he also has great grammar skills.
laggy assistant editor: though fairy is great at editing he might need a voice of reason to keep from going too far. laguna would be a good balance and mediator between fairy and the other creative teams.
story concept: laggy, lath, black angel, leknaat,: all these people love games or writing stories and know what would work and what wouldn't as far as plot lines are concerned. lath could write in the dark macabre tragic or violent aspects of the story, laggy would be great at quest objectives, black angel could focus on the romantic or light hearted parts, while leknaat (krystle) would most likely be good at character concepts.
music: lath. he's the only aspiring musician i know at ef though their may be others. he also has a good taste for deep and stirring songs.
programmers? don't know any programmers directly though a few on ef may have actual programming skill. i just never asked.
overseer: the overseer's job is to ensure everyone works together effectively. since lades has kept this site alive through hard times i think he'd be good at this task.
of course it's hard to work as a team but i can always ask what if..lol. if any of you think you would be good in a game design team post your skills or aspirations here!

yeah and you' be good at it krystle. most of the rpgs you like have strong character development and you draw very well. i'm ok at character concepts i guess but i need to learn to draw clothing better...usaully all my girl characters are way too scantily clad and my guys ware ridiculous outfits. lol. well cyrus what are you good at? i don't know you as well as the people i listed. you can post what you excel at you know, that's the point. lol. i just gave examples.

I've always wanted to do a horror/fantasy rpg... kind of like the novel that Kaffee and I are working on right now. It revolves almost entirely around hell, the devil, vampires, and various mythic creatures.

i was going to have EF members "twin_reaper" and "master_lord_icon" help me with it, but i lost it *cries*
i was all in all the best thing i ever wrote, i put at least one thing from every FF game into it, + alot of my own things lol.. and world history with a FF world twist, it would have been great when done....

well laguna look on the bright side. i've lost data for my idea many times but each time i do it becomes better when i write it again. if you rewrote it you could proably surpass your previous work. a horror fantasy setting? cool lath. my game has aspects of horror but also whimsical fantasy. still it needs work. i think it's too wordy, has poor punctuation, and needs to be more in depth about some things. my friend said it has a great concept but uses a poor choice of narrative. he's right of course. lol. it really needs to be condensed and made legible.

any RPG as long as the story can hold my interest
I do enjoy darker type stories though
Laggy remember the 1st time who tried to kepp Fairy from going to far
lol the book I am helping write right now is about 800 pages of rough raw writing from the POV of about 7 different characters and 5 different writers

Thanks!! heck I draw scantilly clad women all the time.lol It mainly depends on the personality of the character. Alot of times I get inspired by music and the character will just pop into my head...

lmao. well laguna i also wrote you in as one of the writers for the game. i only gave fairy one position and it was the one he'd be good at. i like fairy's writing (yeah i know that comes as a shocker) but it would be too abstract for an rpg except for perhaps having him write up the enemies and warped physics for one of the stranger level types. yet who knows. he may right good coherent stories that we never see. so, in lu of that i will not judge him like i belligerently have in the past. as for krystle i think she knows what makes good characters with lovable or villanous traits that can spark emotion within the player. i don't include myself because while i'm alittle ok at all the things i listed (except programmer and musician) i'm not exceptionally great at any of them.

im an aspiring programmer lol
but yes as concept artists id say you chose well but as graphical artists not really lol Youd also have r&d type people of which id place cammy and lathan for locations and features, id put kaffee as heading the background and concept area of it.

you have a roll cacaw we need your cheese monkeys. they can work in an animated sweat shop doing the grueling frame by frame cut scenes for the game like the poor suckers at disney who think its dreamy to work there until they have to draw up 1000 sheets for animating a single chair. we can pay them in cheese and they'll be completly happy.

yeah weve hit a little snag with that in being the subjects arent delivering what was intended. So my dreams of heading my own company are on hold until i work out how to bypass the waste of a year it seems.

it sucks that your project fell through. I'm taking some begginner programming classes this semester, I may come to you for some advice on a few things. The only thing I'll be working with is basic, so I'm not sure how difficult that can get.

Fly, when you finally do have a company, we should all make a game together. OF course, one of them i'd want to make is my RPG :P But we already agreed you'd make that if i got it ready, so its not a problem ^^

its hard starting a company nabeshin but keep at it. i ran into snags with my idea too. it was a bit too long winded elaborating on useless info while being vague on more important terminalogy. i tried remedying that by condensing it and going more in depth about the more useful parts of the story. still even broken down its 5 pages. i notice people in today's generation really don't like reading. or it could be reading for extended peroids on the computer hurts the eyes. regardless it flows smoother now but has a long way to go. you can only get better from failing and trying again nabeshin. we come back stronger and alittle wiser each time we rise from the ashes of failure. so eventually success is unavoidable.
