forum b.s. at other sites

so tell me has this happen to you guys.

you subscribe to a forum thinking its pretty cool. however unlike most forums u have to wait to be approved by an admistrator. after 5 days you can actually post. so you do post an idea,concept, or other topics about music or games. soon one belligerent asshole after another replies saying you suck as does your grammar. now, these guys aren't even good at insulting you creatively or coming up with clever comments. all they can say is the same phrase again and again. at least fod is fun to flame with. he is at least imaginative and flamboyant. yes, this site had me missing fairy. i realized how much fun it was debating with him and how colorful and interesting it was. so ever go to a site where everyone is a retarded social reject who think they are an elite group of know it alls? where it takes close to a week just to be able to post? please tell of your mishaps here. lol.

yes, there is a lot of bullshit involved with some forums. I usually look a forum over well before I join.

well i did...but not before having alittle fun. y'know arguing with fairy made me alot better at creative barbed insults...i guess i owe him for that. in his own way i think he taught me something. i don't know why i was malicious usaully it's not in my nature. but those people (i'm not listing the site or participants that would be flaming) really brought out the jerk in me, and it was darkly entertaining to do some bashing. guess i'm not as "love n light, turn the other cheek" as i thought.

yes I've left a forum because the people were mean and I just didn't like the overall atmosphere. Like Lathan I look at a forum before joining now.

I usually join, but dont evemn bother posting if it doesnt seem good. But running EF takes almost all of my time, so i really dont do new forums anymore

which is wise to do krystle. the only reason i joined is they had a game idea thread. and just minutes after i posted mine they bashed it and i know they did not have enough time to read it fully. then i announced i was contemplating leaving their answer was "good riddance!" even from some of the mods. i think too many forums have a gang mentality. if one person flames you everyone else jumps on the band wagon including the mods. when a site is like that you have to wonder what the total iq ratio is. it's like they're all spoiled brat children pretending to be significant by cutting down others to boost themselves up. they also don't seem to be able to think for themselves and way the consequences. now that i think back when fairy and i argued i realized he had motivations for what he did. and at least he can come up with fresh material the majority of the time.

the other 4 I was asked to be admin or Super Mod right away and I went sure why not

i've been a mod but rarely. its hard work because you're moding and living your life at the sametime. i do respect good mods and all the ones here are great at what they do. i mean if someone bashes me for a reason and explains it that's ok. i misjudged fairy so he had a reason to come after me. but if they say you suck just because their friends say it and they don't even know you, that's where i think it reverts back to being in 3rd grade where the popular kids try picking on the new kids. i'm too adult to play that game though i did lay into some people before i left. this of course doesn't make me too much better i suppose but at least i had the common sense to leave.

GW and some of my other forums pissed me off, so when i was so nicly welcomed to Ef, i stayed and i stayed for good

i hear ya laggy. it's funny but because ef, will and giselle forums, and ztgd i thought all forums were generally laid back and friendly. so, i tried branching off and discovered good forums and good people are a rare and wonderful thing.

yeah. it's like that in most other forums cyrus. if you post one idea people don't like or repeatedly leave grammatical errors you're asking for trouble. it's strange how certain people are compulsive enough to try and expose every weakness you have. i notice fairy picks at weaknesses usaully to make people stronger. but at this forum i think they were doing it just because they were assholes that wanted to make themselves feel better by stepping on noobs. when you think about the logic in that it is flawed because if a forum turns away all noobs how the hell do they expect to get new members?

at GW, i knew lots of mods, admons S-mods and what not, i talked to mark and al alot.. still talk to Al though he hasnt gotten back to me in a few days..

and i still hate the forum, all of the higher ranks there would show me respect, but the newbs every day 100's of them show up acting like they knopw somthing, and the people who i thought were friends ended up being jack asses because i kne wthe right people to get a mod spot, but thats all past, GW is just to big, and they dont have as many people as they need working there to make sure things are going good, i mean, hafe of the mods dont even know what forums GW has, and I know ALL forums, and posted in every one of them....

hmmm i'm fine with the people at gw because i act a bit more shallow and trendy under my other avvy. lol. i think being deep and thoughtful there or a bit different automatically marks you for ostrazation when you are at gw. congrats on being able to be at harmony there cyrus. you have succeeded where i have failed. lol. if you can coexist in that type of hellish enviorment and be yourself you trully are enlightened.

i got attempted banned at gw twice, i got warned at gc, ive been banned from another forum and im heading the way of making enemies on a new forum. All because i speak my mind.

At gw it was because the reason for me failing my mod vote which was given was 'hes too blunt' so i proceeded to make light of the matter screaming shananigans and that they were a bunch of wusses. Needless to say they didnt like it and tried to ban me for it by placing my ip which is in melbourne btw to a guy in sydney with is a state away. 2nd time up i drew and they then just not even a day after introduced those who drew get a revote. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM MMM

So there i still proceed to do what i do and they seem to leave me alone, needless to say a few of the members love me for standing up to the ridiculous things they do.

Then came gc where there was a thread entitled 'whats your opinion of gc' and it was basically a whats good and whats bad about it, so i posted after viewing what i can, Aztech didnt like it and said so i replied he warned me for trolling, i asked doc wtf he said i wasnt warned then i proceeded to see members being hassled to the point of leaving so i too left because it was ridiculous.

And FF previously gmz i became a mod after being my usual self (finally recognition for being right in things) and as gmz which was a mini board on togrc went to FF i was the first smod voted in as the new staff, turned down an admin spot there recently too. So that is by far my best board as far as accomplishments go, though having 3/4 of gws mod hating you is quite hard to beat lol

yeah they caught on to my false alternate id at gw. not that it's hard when they can look up my info. still i fooled them for one post which is still bad because the head admin bart complimeted me on my "chill bro, they're only trying to help!" statement i posted under my own idea for shizs in giggles. lol. see i act intelligent i get hung but i talk like a surfer from cali i get praised. should tell you about their general maturity level. no offense cyrus. to each their own. if you like gw more power to you i just made a bad first impression and at gw there are no second chances once you are "marked".

ef taught me a great deal of how to not take things so seriously. so it was sursprsing when gw actually pissed me off and got me to rave and sling monkey poo. still it was kinda fun too. they're such easy prey and look good covered in poo. if they have the social graces of bums in the alley they might as well look and smell the part. of course there are good ppl at gw like cyrus, i just ran into all the jack asses first.

well like i said i'm sure there are good ppl at gw. it was just a crappy coincidence i was on when all the fraktards were. i know alot of great forums though, like all of EFs affiliates i've come to like, and another thats a really good place thats my hide out, the smaller places are the best, lol go to gaia its the bigest forum on the net man! and it sucks <_<
but there are some great ones out there, EF being the best, but thats only IMO lol

Yeah, i pride myself and EF on the kind of atmosphere i've created. A friendly, conversational one. Thats also why i dont like fighting and stuff here.

After studying forums for almost a year, from all different perspectives, i've combined the mix of elements i beleive will bring about the highest possible success rate for EF.
