Half-Life 2: Episode 2 Finally Arriving in October (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3160370)
Exciting? Hell yes. Episodic? No, not really.

Last month (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3159251), nearly a year after the release of Half-Life 2: Episode 1 (http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3139501), Valve kindly informed the desperate masses that Half-Life 2: Episode 2 (http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3152170) was nearing completion. Late last week, ShackNews (http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/47435) got first word of just what that means.
According to the article, Valve reps have confirmed that HL2: Episode 2 will ship to PC and consoles (in the form of the Orange Box (http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3156697)) on October 9th, 2007. Recently, Valve backed off of calling their Half-Life 2 saga episodic content, and, to be fair, Episode 2 isn't just a continuation of Gordon Freeman's adventures -- it will also contain two other games, the first-person puzzler Portal (http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3152177) and the long-awaited multiplayer Team Fortress 2 (http://www.1up.com/do/gameOverview?cId=3152175).
We've got some months to wait before we discover whether or not this one has been worth the wait, but 1UP's got multiple Episode 2 previews (http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3155148&sec=PREVIEWS) to keep you busy until then.
