I'm starting a job at Dorney Park today. I'm in Tube Repair. More importantly, friends and family get in free.

I've never heard of it and that is surprising since we are close to each other with you at Penn State. Anyway good luck with that.

At first I read that as 'Disney park' and was like holy shit. Nice find on a job tho.

Cause dorney park is a theme park only in our area kaoru. And gratz yvl. I'd never go to dorney park anyway >.> I don't like the rides and all. Enjoy fixing inner tubes of their holes and leaky airness.

Whoa Yvl, my old friend from Allentown used to work there too.

I used to go to Dorney when I was younger, and y'know, lived a little closer to it >.>

The job sucks, I dont actually do anything. For the record, their definition of "tube repair" is "cutting the tubes with holes into little pieces." The actual job duties are operating a lift on one of the rides and refilling the deflated tubes.

Congrats on the job. I've applied to five stores already and no one has called me back. At least you're getting paid for doing nothing.

At least you can take your frustration out on the busted tubes ._. Or something.

It actually may sound more boring than my job as I actually do something even if it is stocking shelves and pulling trucks.

Miles

Stocking shelves is fun ._. That's what I'm gonna be doing next week or the week after, when I'm back at work.

I get to use one of those electric thingies to scan the bar-codes and decide how many of whatever I need ^o^ Weee~ I always wanted to use one of those!

Wait, back to work? Does that mean you're feeling better? o.o

And there are things I'd much rather stock shelves than do. >.>

Well, mostly. The medication that the hospital put me on really worked.
I still get problems with shortness of breath and I get a bad coughing fit every so often ^o^ But it's MUCH better.
It doesn't wake me up anymore ._.

But my work found me something else to do...(Which would be what I mentioned above.) So I don't scare the customers away.
When I was at the cash register >.> as soon as I started coughing, people would leave my queue and go somewhere else...No matter how busy it was.

Ah, well, that's good. But enough of hijacking poor Yvl's thread ;.;

I actually did fix some tubes today. It was only like half a day yesterday so they didnt show me everything. However, I've fixed 2 tubes and destroyed like 2 dozen, to give you an idea of how many are fixable.

At first I read that wrong, I thought you said Donkey Park, and it got me to wondering, why does a Donkey need a park and what exactly would your job intel. But now I see that my old senile eyes have made a fool of me once again.

Congrats on the job. Its sounds like a park that we have here in Arkansas called Wild River Country. But it probably isn't.

Have fun bro, and spend your money wisely. :D

Nah, that's ont one of ours. Cedar Point is though, that one's pretty famous. King's Dominion too, that's near alot of the members here I think.

It sounds like the type of job that dissolves your brain at an alarming rate.

Rainbow Dash

The reason why wasnt that the boredom got to me - I had gotten used to that - but for health reasons. I couldnt do half of my job because the janitors are lazy fucks and wouldnt fucking clean the area that I was supposed to work in. It was covered in mold, and I'm allergic. It's been a week now since I told them about it.

So instead they have me doing manual labor (carrying tubes to the different rides), which I'm not suited to. I worked until I almost passed out today and needed medical attention, and then was berated for not completing my quota. I cannot stand to be underappreciated.

Well, if they don't respect your health, they don't deserve you as an employee. I mean fuck destroying your health for a job.

I think you definitely made the right choice. There's nothing worse than being treated like shit and not being able to do much of anything about it.

Altima

What job are you going to look to get next? Stocking shelves somewhere or some light work in a restaurant?

Miles
06-29-2007, 08:04 AM
I'm not surprised you quit...That sounds awful -.-;

I hate work places that treat their staff like dirt. There's no need for it...And without us, there wouldn't be any them. They NEED staff to keep the work-place going...

Dark Marmosett

That sucks. Should report them or something for unclean working environment :/
