View Full Version : Does your nationality change your political standing...?

This is difficult to ask, as it may easily be mis-understood...
What I mean to ask is if one's race or nationality - not the political country but the very area your from - factor into one's political ideology...

Obvious things come in - what's happened in your country,
who you approve of and what you see things by...

But what I ask is a broader basis -
Is a European from a particular area more inclined to be more liberal in thinking - or from another area - more conservative...

Are people from certain parts of the middle east more inclined to want traditional conservative views as opposed to another area more inclined for more modern and social democratic concepts...,

It's a difficult thing to ask since many here are from the US - but even this factors into it as differant parts of the US are like the rest of the world...

I think it does but it depends on what's happening in the country in question and the countries that are most closely connected to it. Popular politics changes quite a bit with countries that change and change things a lot.

I dunno. I mean I was raised in Northern Kentucky, which is one of the most Republican states in the union. Its still a red state even after all the bush crap, and that says something. o_o()

But I consider myself a liberal with some moderate values, despite that I've been living here since I was five.

Indiana is fairly moderate in politics and I consider myself and moderate conservative, but I do not believe that I am truly influenced by my state.

I have no idea. I think republican while my state has mostly been Democratic for the past since I can remember. >.> So I'd say no.
