most people think chrono cross is the direct sequel to chrono trigger. well one day i was surfing the net in search of bad porn and cheap ass games and i found a radical dreamer site. supposedly radical dreamers was another snes game with the same characters from chrono trigger and chrono cross that never made it to the states. so anyone play this game? most likely it sucked, still it might have been good.

the game was mostly text based
It was alright I suppose. I had a fan-translated rom but the game messed up after awhile and I havent been able to find another nor have I really tried

i hear that it isnt a direct sequel, thats why chrono cross IS direct... thats what i have been told about the series, and to us... it doesnt even really count, being we dont have it lol

yeah i'll play it just so i can flesh out the storyline of the chrono trigger mythos more. still lately i've been more consumed by wanting to make a game myself rather then playing pre existing games.

same here. I'd like to get one of the rpg maker things and play around with it. I've heard from some people that they aren't very good... but I still think it would be kinda fun.

well you could use the rpg maker to design your story and how the characters interact then just give it to a company and say "make the game like this, but with todays graphics and technology." it would be an excellent tool for story boarding and world creation at the very least.

RPG makers suck
I have one for the computer and I made a RPG lol sorta it took me like 2 weeks to make the start of the game they game is very much like S2 because you can recuit about 50 characters I had made but it was too damn long so what I did was made it a one level game, I also made a "Guardien" aka Weapon that was pretty damn impossible to kill even at full states

well all i'm saying is their good for making blue prints and a story board for an rpg idea. i know the graphics in the rpg maker suck as do some of the options. still its better then nothing. i think it'd be great if we had an rpg maker that used the ff7 or legend of dragoon engine but i don't see that happening anytime soon unfortunatelly.

I guess they're something that consume a lot of your time...

actually i don't have rpg maker all my ideas are written. i used the one my friend had but i only burrowed it for about a week. alot of ppl complain i write too much but when you are developing an rpg with an epic story and unique game mechanics you almost have to be long winded in some regards.

true, but if you can keep everything organized it'll pay off. that's the main thing that I can't do. I couldn't find all of my game notes if I tried.

perhaps i just have to find a group of ambitous programmer that want to do an rpg that goes in a slightly different direction..

O.o I see the topic has strayed. I am enjoying playind RD actually, it's interesting. I Didnt think I would like it so much. And I have RPG Maker for the PS and PC, and the PC version is far better. You can upload characters and maps etc, instead of just using the crappy default stuff. Too bad mine fucked up, I had a few good ideas...
