In what can only be described as dramatic, the Yankees introduced their new ace during the 7th inning stretch.

He'll surely have an ERA of around three, and I'm sure he'll bring in tons of revenue for the Yankees, but that was an expensive move for a player who may have 10 wins for you this year. Not to mention, the rest of the staff would have gotten them at least five of those wins.

I wish I got $25 mil to pitch 16 games, not travel with the team if I'm not starting, and only play half the year.
c. The Devil Rays' payroll for six months for 24 major-league players: $24,124,200.

d. The Yankees' payment and luxury-tax fee to employ Roger Clemens for four months: $25,900,000.

Ridiculous.

A guy was talking about this at work last night and he said that Clemens was getting like $4.5 million a month to play no more than 6 games. It is truly outrageous but they have the money so I guess it is ok.

Just reading how much he has to play and gets that much is plain retarded. I don't like sports myself let a lone baseball. But sports players are getting payed too much.

All sports players get paid too much, but you have to figure that the only reason that they get that much is because that is what people spend on the Franchises.

This is bullshit. Clemens said he was retiring, then went to Houston. He left the best franchise in baseball for Houston, and we come crawling back to him after he actually does retire.

I just want to know if he still drives around the car he got from the Yanks when he retired the first time.

This is an atrociously high price. In what is surely an incorrect statement, no one has gotten paid more to do less in sports.

Do you have any idea how much baseball owners make especially the Yankees? It has to be in the billions if I remmeber correctly a few billion. They can give out as much cash as they want for anyone.

Here's another stat, Clemens is getting paid $106 a minute...

Payroll nonwithstanding, Tampa Bay kicks our asses. I don't know what's going on, but it's like the management forgot how to field a good team.

I once had a chance to see pitch when he was in Houston. I was never really a fan, but my Aunt loves loves him, at the time anyway cause she's an Astro's fan, don't know how she feels about him now though.
