Ok...this is kinda weird to explain...but as of this morning I wake up late and go to take my bath...and when I take my shirt off...right where my arm connect to my body where the arm folds that makes that crease...well the skin there...is sorta...brownish...or tan like...and has what seems like goosebumps from time to time even though the rest of me doesn't have it....I think I might know what is causing it..but not sure..

I have a wooden computer chair..and its quite uncomfortable...so usually at some points of times...I rest my armpit on the back side the chairs back...while typing and doing stuff..and my arm usually turns a dark flesh color and I don't know why I do that..but I think from continued putting my arm there like that it did something to the skin there. And I'm wondering...what could it exactly mean....

Anyone know anything that could be helpful. Thanks in advanced.

I saw someone else that had this. I don't think it is a real problem, though. o.o;; They were just worried that it was bad for them or something. I think theirs just cleared up. o.o;;

You sure it's not a bruise or something?

I'd look into psoriasis or lime disease and whatnot. I can't think of anything else without having more information. Either way, if it worries you that much, why not just have it checked out?

I have a friend who has an odd case of psoriasis. Every time his skin touches metal with nickle in it, his skin turns an odd silvery color, sort of like fish scales, and spreads across his body.. Then it gets all dry and flakes off.

There's lots of different symptoms between people with psoriasis, which is why I suggested you look into it. Doubt that's what it is, but you never know.

Nope....can't be lime disease. I never leave the house XD And its only where i've been leaning on the back of the chair....its odd. maybe I killed the skin?

I have a spot right in the same location on I think my left upper arm. I've never worried about it since it is just a small redish line and probably from leaning in my comp chair or something. That or from sweating a lot there and making the skin rub together.

>.> This isn't a red line. I don't even see why you both posting if that is not anywhere similar to what I'm describing. This is a patch of skin in one general location thats changing. Not a line.

That or from sweating a lot there and making the skin rub together.

I believe the technical term for that is chafing, and that's not what teh Gunny seems to be talking about. From Experience, though, when its your upper legs getting red like that, OUCH it gets annoying and painful and can take over a week to go away sometimes. (Do not use your everyday moisturizing creams, either, that STINGS if it's red enough)

I still say, that if you haven't, use creams and stuff. If the skin is dried up and dead looking, what harm could moisturizers do?

See a local physician?

Bleh. Its still around there at the beginning of my arm pit and now its peeling a lot and hurts now. And my mom thinks its not serious enough to go see anyone about it. Just put so and so on it. Its nothing. And since summer is now here there are no cars to drive myself places. -.-

maybe you have an allergy to something.

are you using some new type of laundry detergent or anything like that?

Same stuff as always. Tide and Downy.

does it come and go or has it been there consistently?

I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it spreads, then you should really see a doctor. But it sounds like chaffing or something along those lines.

Try rubbing alcohol to both clean and disinfect the area. Also, if you have one of those food scrapers (it looks like a dulled down version of a cheese grader), you can use it to scrap off the dead skin cells and then clean the live ones underneath.

If it hurts and the skin is peeling...The best thing you can do is wash it a few times a day. Like every 2-3 hours, don't use anything with fragrance, either. If you have a soft spounge or one of those body scrubbers, use that to gently wash it.
If it REALLY hurts when doing it, though...Stop.
But if nothing else just wash it with warm water a few times a day and then after that put some cream on it (Try and go for something that soothes...If you use something that will make it sting, you're likely to make it worse)

If you can keep that skin nice and soft, it'll peel easier and won't hurt as much.

I actually had a brown spot on my foot for a while that was a bit roughish and I think that it even had grooves in it and I think it is just gone now although it took a long time.

Are you wearing any new shirts made of a different fabric than you are used to?
