Good luck doing it, mate. Not only would it be easier to find it online, it'd most likely be cheaper, too. I don't think you got into the game enough to TRULY enjoy it to it's fullest extent...or did you?

I love that game alot. I bought it when I was 16 and I still have it. Haven't played it in a while but I love the story to the game...especially when you get further into it.

I love the story...biggest blend of conspiracy, religion, and catastrophe I've ever seen.

It took me the LONGEST time to beat that game... I leveled up like there was no tomorrow and the final boss was STILL tough.

Yeah I beat it. lol I remember some of the ending but not very much. That story actaully made me see things from a different perspective. :D

I have it, and have played it, but it never gripped me enough to continue playing it...

I think i left off in the Tower of Babel. I may play it some in Australia.

You are tossing up a good opportunity. Its hailed as one of the best RPG's of all time, and I DONT HAVE IT!!! I demand you play it.

yeah... I've been saying this all along. Xenogears is the best rpg ever made. Though the graphics aren't as up to par with FF8 (it was released at the same time, and probably the reason for the lag in that department of the game) it has the best story and some of the coolest characters ever. The only complaint I've ever had about it, is it's a very slow moving game for the first half of it anyway, and the half hour + long cutscenes in the second disc.

I thought you had a PS1 modchip. couldn't you just buy the american version of it?

i had the game and loved it. not surprisingly it is the parent of xeno saga which is also a great game. i'm actually glad square did not keep the rights to xeno gears...i shudder to think what xno saga would have been like if square/enix had a hand in its creation..

I'm pretty sure that Square still holds the rights to the game Xenogears. Monolith soft makes Xenosaga, which is a completely different game franchise. Although it does have some reference to Gears, it isn't part of it.

its still kinda in the same series, i mean, they pritty much said it in a interview tht they tried getting squares help, but couldnt, so they made it saga when they wanted it to be a #2 in the series, well.. thats what i read anyway, may not be true
but they made it to be part of it i think, and they did good.. i kinda count it as a series with gears, but not fully

I actually have two copies of Xenogears but one of them is missing the instruction manual...I let one of my cousins(not Lathan) borrow it and he took it upon himself to loan it out to every one of his friends...oh well the game itself still works good.

Well, officially Xenogears is not part of Xenosaga, because Gears belongs to Square and Saga is Namco. If they did link the two then it would break copyright law, but they are in the same series, they just can't say it. That's what I've been told anyway. Yes I do have a modchip, and I think I will be buying this game very soon ^_^

and it would mess up the saga story. I don't think they're going to go 12,000 years into the future to make a remake of gears. It'll probably stay with the cast it has until it's over.

I heard that If they COULD get the rights to gears then it would be part 5 in the 6 parts of Xenosaga.

that was just the rumors surrounding it in the early stages of development. even if they did get the rights to it now gears wouldn't be a part of saga. they'd probably just do a remake of gears.

cool. I'm anxious to hear what you think about it... and don't let the begining discourage you. It is one of the slowest starting games ever made. Just bear with it for a while.
