Milk of Amnesia
Dairy board drops Olsens' ''Got Milk?'' ads. With Mary-Kate seeking treatment for an eating disorder, board yanks ads out of ''sensitivity'' by Gary Susman

DOES A BODY GOOD The Olsens' milk ad is yanked

If only Mary-Kate Olsen had listened to her own advice. Back in April, when she and twin sis Ashley appeared in the latest ''Got Milk?'' ad, Mary-Kate said in a statement: ''We wanted to appear in this ad because we love the campaign and we want to help make sure our fans are healthy like us.'' The 5'2'' mogul-actress added: ''It is important to drink milk because it keeps you strong and helps you grow tall.'' Now that Mary-Kate is seeking treatment for an eating disorder at a rehab clinic, the Milk Processor Education Program has pulled the ads, which were to run in magazines through July. Hugh Williams, a director with the dairy coalition, told the Associated Press that the group wiped clean the Olsens' milk mustaches out of ''sensitivity to their current situation.''

In April, when EW.com asked dairy coalition spokesman Jon Rennels why the group chose the petite Olsens for an ad touting milk's height-boosting properties, he said, ''Teens look up to the Olsen twins -- no matter how tall they are -- so they're perfect role models to encourage teens to drink their milk.'' Now they're the perfect cautionary examples as well.

*tsk tsk

I'm not at all suprised by things like that, but they should have left the ads up for the irony.

Irony is that it is rumoured that Mary-Kate has a cocanie problem

Eat, Drink, and Be Mary-Kate
Mary-Kate is coming home from the clinic. She's checking out after six weeks of treatment for her eating disorder by Gary Susman

Looks like the Olsen household will be a full house again soon. According to People.com, a source close to Mary-Kate Olsen says that the actress-mini-mogul is coming home this weekend. She's spent the last six weeks in treatment for what has been widely reported as an eating disorder. The 18-year-old's publicist, Michael Pagnotta, confirmed to the Associated Press that Olsen is ''doing well'' and that supporters can ''expect her to return home soon.''

Olsen's family acknowledged her health woes in June, shortly after Mary-Kate and sister Ashley's ''New York Minute'' came and went from theaters in a New York minute. During Mary-Kate's treatment, Ashley canceled a trip to Australia to promote the movie in order to be with her sister, and dairy farmers pulled the ''Got Milk?'' ads that featured the teen icons. With her return home, Mary-Kate will be on track to join her twin sister as they prepare to enroll as New York University freshmen this fall.
