Who would make a good president of the US if you could choose any one person? Also what do you think that person should do to help our country and our relations with other countries?

John McCain. I think he is the right man for our current situation. He is moderate and appeals to most Americans and he has a sound head on his shoulders to throughly sort through many of our current problems.

Barack Obama. He may lack political experience, but I do believe he makes up for it in ideas. I'd have the candidate from New Mexico... can't believe I forgot his name... as his VP, because of his foreign policy experience.

I believe and this is jsut my opinion that the president has to be a white male. My reason isn't because no other race or sex can do it. I jsut think that if a black or a women or anyone other than a white male becomes the president that someone will assassinate him/her. I just see it happening is all. If it happens maybe I should become a famous psychic.

People try to assassinate Presidents anyway, their race or gender wouldn't be enough to make the success rate higher.

That said, Obama is a decent choice for the democrats if I had to come right down choosing. Especially since my man Lieberman probably won't run.

They might and we just never really hear about it but I think that the chances are a bit higher for nonwhite males. I think that more people would be dumb enough to try it I mean. It isn't impossible to kill anyone if you have enough people trying or a well thought out plan. Manpower + a good plan could = success and just another scratch on America's Resume if you will.

I'm throwing my vote at either Obama or Clinton in 08. And as for them getting assassinated... Bit of history for you Kaoru. Remember Gerald Ford? The white male who succeeded Nixon?
100+ assasination attempts in one year. If someone becomes president its like they grow a bullseye on the back of their head.

And saying that someone becoming a president when they're a certain race or religion would make them a target... Remember, the potential killers are the ones out there voting. Sure a black president would be disliked more by the KKK or a Jewish president would be hated by the NeoNazis, but so what? Better than our current president, who's hated by just about everyone.
